Could Gears of War: E-Day Learn From Gears Tactics?

Gearheads, it looks like we might be getting another new game in the Gears of War series soon: "Gears of War: E-Day"! But it might get a big dose of awesome by stealing a trick from another game!

Is There Any New Gears of War Gameplay?

Yep! It's a prequel that shows the story of Emergence Day and shows how all those weapons, enemies and locations evolved, but it doesn’t look like Gears of War: E-Day is changing much. We will see Marcus and Dom. But here's what is really neat! The devs should look to the tactical game, Gears Tactics!

So How Could Gears Tactics Make Gears of War: E-Day Better?

It's wild how the spin-off is a strategy game! They put a lot of awesome mechanics into that game that could work so well with the core Gears of War. That’s not surprising, though!
Remember how in Gears Tactics, each player got their unique setup for how their Weapons, Armor, and even Grenades work? Imagine that! The guns and gear are really amazing!
But they might need to tone it down! You don't want those awesome guns to just make you not want to switch weapons.

But Isn't The Gears of War Gameplay Already Set?

It kinda is! Think Gears of War as a super-classic third-person shooter - always fun with those Active Reload mechanics where you actually have to use your timing when firing a weapon, and it also makes those battles even more frantic and fast-paced! So you have to think of those guns like their super important weapons.

How Do These Changes Work In Gears Tactics?

It's pretty simple in Gears Tactics, really - it's like upgrading those guns. It even adds stuff to them, like scopes and bayonets!
If they took some of these ideas, it would bring in all sorts of variety - that’s super important when you are playing a series that has been around for over a decade!
It might actually help to make things more interesting because there have been so many years, where things like the Lancer - the classic weapon that people just use for so long, or the Gnasher shotgun - a real beast in Gears of War Multiplayer - and they might get some new levels of versatility!

When Will Gears of War: E-Day Be Available?

Sadly - nobody knows. The game is all set to show what happened at Emergence Day, the event where everything went crazy. The Locust Horde, those creepy, mutated, insect-looking things - you’ll know who those are if you are familiar with the Gears of War series. But the great news - It could help to refresh that gameplay, especially after Gears 5 was kind of a flop. This will probably have to have some major changes and there’s a lot of hope that Gears of War will really find its footing with this game - it really could bring the series back into the light!

For a super cool new game that you can dive into now - there’s Gears of War - they even got that awesome Horde Mode - with endless waves of enemies - but maybe we’ll see a new version of Gears Tactics as well. But one thing we know is that they need to give the fans some kind of new weapon customization options so players feel like they can make the guns their own!
