Elden Ring: Sellen or Jerren?
What are the choices at the end of Sorceress Sellen's questline?
You have a big decision to make at the end of Sorceress Sellen's questline. Do you side with the witch hunter, Jerren, and bring Sellen down for her past, or do you help Sellen achieve her dream of rebuilding the academy? It's a tough choice, and there are major consequences to each path.
What happens if I side with Jerren?
If you choose to join Jerren, you'll invade Sellen's world in the Grand Library and fight the Graven Witch. This battle is pretty easy as long as you dodge her spells. Winning gets you the Witch's Glintstone Crown, which boosts intelligence, and Sellen's Bell Bearing, which lets you buy her spells from the Twin Maiden Husks. You also get an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for helping out. But that's it! Jerren just thanks you and says goodbye.
What happens if I side with Sellen?
If you choose Sellen, you'll fight Jerren and win. You'll get his whole outfit, the Eccentric Set. Sellen then blesses you and gives you the Glintstone Kris, a cool dagger. She also teaches you the Shard Spiral spell. Sadly, Sellen ends up transforming into a sad, messed-up School of Graven Mages after the battle. You can still buy stuff from her though.
What are the benefits of siding with Sellen?
Sellen is the better choice overall! It's not just about morality, she has way more rewards for you. You get unique items from her, like the Glintstone Kris and Shard Spiral, that you can't find anywhere else. You also unlock the armor sets of Master Lusat and Sorcerer Azur, which are awesome. Jerren just gives you some stuff you can probably find elsewhere anyway.
What happens to Jerren and Sellen after I make my choice?
After you side with Jerren, he disappears from the game. You won't see him again. But if you side with Sellen, she'll be sad and stuck as a Graven Mage. But hey, at least she'll still be around to sell you stuff!
Is siding with Jerren or Sellen required to finish Ranni's questline?
No, neither choice affects Ranni's questline. It's entirely separate.
Who should I side with?
It's totally up to you! Both choices have their own consequences and rewards. But in the end, Sellen gives you better loot, and more importantly, the armor sets from Lusat and Azur. Just remember, once you make your choice, you can't go back.
