A Hungry Dog and a Mystery Solved: The Story of Misko's Cave of Chests
We all love a good treasure hunt, and in The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, one of the most fun ways to find hidden loot is by bribing dogs with delicious treats. Feed a dog enough food, and it'll happily lead you to treasure! But one Reddit user named BF00000 had a hilarious problem: one particularly hungry dog wouldn't lead him anywhere.
BF00000 tried everything to entice the dog. They presented a spread of gourmet meals fit for royalty - 12 chunks of raw meat, ten of raw prime meat, five of gourmet meat, two raw bird thighs, and a whole bird! This dog was definitely a foodie, but it wasn't leading them anywhere. Other players suggested that maybe apples are the key, as they're more common than prime meat. Someone even proposed making a Hansel-and-Gretel trail of apples for the dog to follow, but it seemed nothing would work.
A Dog's Deeper Purpose
But hold on a second, there might be something more going on here. A Reddit user named citrusella pointed out that this particular dog is connected to a side quest called "Misko's Cave of Chests." This quest is unlocked by talking to the NPCs outside Cephla Lake Cave. They tell you about a treasure-filled cave, but most of the chests only contain green rupees. However, one chest holds a big treasure, and finding it takes the patience of a true hero.
Once you've started this quest, all you have to do is feed the dog at Foothill Stable, and it'll lead you to the treasure chest! BF00000 later revealed that they had already completed the quests given by the NPCs, which meant there was technically nothing left for the dog to lead them to. Mystery solved!
This incident shows that while the dog-feeding method is a great way to find treasure, sometimes there's more to it than just throwing food. There might be an underlying quest or story behind a particular dog. And if the dog doesn't lead you to anything, don't worry! Maybe it's already done its job, or maybe there's a different dog waiting to take you on a treasure hunt.
More Than Just Treats
This whole situation is a fun reminder that there's so much to discover in Tears of the Kingdom. There are secrets hidden everywhere, and some of them might involve a little bit of bribery. So next time you see a dog, don't be afraid to throw it a few treats, you never know what might happen! Just remember to check if there's a quest nearby before you throw all your prime meat at it, just like BF00000 did. But hey, at least that dog got a delicious meal out of it, right?
