Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - One Soldier Too Many Side Quest Guide

Get ready for a fun side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom! This game is full of fun adventures for Princess Zelda but this one will test your skills.

One Soldier Too Many:

There is a special side quest in Hyrule Castle Town called "One Soldier Too Many." This quest starts with meeting Beecher, a soldier who informs Princess Zelda that there's an extra soldier among General Wright's ranks after the rift was fixed.

Beecher needs Zelda's help! There is a Suspicious Soldier but he doesn't know who it is. It requires looking around for clues!

Starting the Quest:

To start, you have to get a couple of things done. First up, beat the Hyrule Castle Dungeon. That also includes taking down its main boss! NintendoLife even lets us know that to start this quest you need to make some headway into the main quest "Lands of the Goddesses." When you get through those first quests, you will see Beecher by the town entrance!

Talk to Beecher to find out the basics. It looks like something is missing: some equipment, in fact. This helps set things up to look for that missing equipment and ultimately helps narrow the focus of this quest!

Solving the Puzzle:

To find the extra soldier you need to talk with various guards throughout Hyrule Castle Town.

Here's the secret to helping solve the "One Soldier Too Many" quest:

Go to the western wall!
Head to the barracks and check for any missing gear. A cutscene is about to begin.
The missing soldier will show up as you head to the barracks and look around and find the soldier lacking a spear head on his lance.

After finding all the clues, talk again with Beecher, giving him some answers!

To complete this step, remember:

Beecher will ask if you saw a soldier with missing equipment? The answer? “I sure did.”
Then he will ask about where that suspicious soldier was hanging out! Remember “Near the well”
Finally, tell him about the gear! That would be “The Lance”

You will trigger another cutscene which reveals that this person is totally innocent. This particular soldier is just such a fan of Hyrule’s troops and decided that he wanted to help and act like a soldier himself. What a great guy. This makes General Wright really happy! He will be letting the King know how awesome this particular person really is and how there could be another soldier who joins the crew.
