Unquestionably awesome Super Saiyan Blue Fanart from Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball: Super Saiyans' World

Apart from the fan-favorite Dragon Ball Z animation, Dragon Ball Super is a follow-up to the original Dragon Ball series. Ten years after Majin Buu is defeated, Dragon Ball Super chronicles Goku and his buddies on fresh exploits. Like its forebears, Dragon Ball Super received compliments all through its 131 episodes.

One of the most well-liked anime series, Dragon Ball's appeal keeps rising from its thrilling action and superb characters. The show's amazing animation and intricate fight scenes have won it compliments. Dragon Ball is a really legendary work.

Broly Turns Super Saiyan Blue in Undeniably Cool New Fanart

Broly has been a fan-favorite character from his initial (technically non-canon) debut in Dragon Ball since he questions the restrictions of how strong a Saiyan might be. Being a Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly's innate power level is astronomical compared to Saiyans who have to train constantly their entire life only to taste even a fraction of Broly's natural-born strength. And now, Broly has grown even more powerful as he has ascended to the heavenly form of Super Saiyan Blue in an unquestionably awesome new fanart.

On X (previously Twitter), artist KAKERU posts a picture of Broly in his base form with blue hair sporting a blue Saiyan tail. Fans are definitely more used to see Broly in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, but this fanart shows his base form, which keeps true to the essence of the Super Saiyan Blue transformation since it needs one to channel god ki, which does not require a past Super Saiyan power-up.

Dragon Ball Could Create Super Saiyan Blue Broly Canon in Super

Following his iconic entrance in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan received invites to train on Beerus' planet alongside Goku and Vegeta. Broly is learning control over his Legendary Super Saiyan form instead of aiming for a new transformation as of his most recent visit in Dragon Ball Super chapter 103 by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou. But after Broly battled Izan Beast, it appears he is more advanced in that sense than anyone anticipated, hence he will shortly have complete control over his Legendary form and be able to unlock a new transformation.

Following nearly immediately with Super Saiyan Blue (which is another name for Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan), Goku and Vegeta rapidly learnt to channel god ki and accomplish Super Saiyan God when they were exposed to divine power by Lord Beerus in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Could Broly's path lead him along related power routes? Given who he is training with, it seems most likely, which would essentially make this Fanart canon (despite Broly's non-canon look in the fanart).

Dragon Ball Shouldn't Have Every Excuse to Give Broly an SSJBlue Upgrade, But It Does

Dragon Ball Super shouldn't let Broly follow in Goku and Vegeta's footsteps by unlocking Super Saiyan Blue. Super Saiyan Blue employs god ki, hence it is not a natural Saiyan transformation as the other versions. Being a Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly is the ideal representation of an all-powerful Saiyan warrior, hence his ascension in power shouldn't stray from natural Saiyan transformations. Dragon Ball would be foolish to have Broly do; Goku and Vegeta have all but abandoned Saiyan transformations in favor of harnessing divine strength.

With his Legendary status allowing him to acquire power-ups the likes of which Goku and Vegeta never could - and one fans have never seen - Broly's development in Dragon Ball should be more anchored to the primal nature of the Saiyan species. Still, it's very great to see Broly with the legendary Dragon Ball transformation in this magnificent new Fanart even with the possible narrative ramifications from having him reach Super Saiyan Blue.

Notable Features

This fanart also shows Broly as he was first presented in Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, his non-canonical debut. Though with a noticeably different look, where he battled Goku and Vegeta (and Gogeta) in their Super Saiyan Blue forms, meaning that version is no stranger to this particular transformation, that is a bold artistic choice given the fact that Broly was brought into the official Dragon Ball canon in Dragon Ball Super.

Although Broly is a major character in the Dragon Ball Super manga today, the original DBZ version never received such treatment until recently via fanart!
