Could Starfield Get Mechs in a Future DLC?
Starfield already lets you build and fly your own spaceship, but one fan has a cool theory about a possible new vehicle: giant Mech Suits. Imagine walking around a planet in a massive, armored suit, blasting enemies with powerful weapons! Sounds pretty awesome, right?
The game's lore kinda keeps mechs off-limits for now, but this Redditor, TerminalHappiness, thinks it's a hint at a future DLC expansion. They point out that Bethesda has a history of adding major new features in its RPGs through DLC, like the Dragon Riding system in Skyrim. And with Starfield's detailed ship customization, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine adding modular mech building, too.
Bethesda Has a History of Building Robots
TerminalHappiness also mentions that in Fallout 4, Bethesda released the Automatron DLC, which let players create their own robots. While a mech suit is different from a robotic follower, there's a clear connection. So, a DLC where you could find broken mech parts and rebuild them with upgrades would be awesome!
In Starfield, all the mechs you find are busted and dismantled. The lore says they were outlawed after the Colony War, because they were just too powerful. Sounds like the perfect set-up for a DLC where you have to restore mechs and maybe even fight someone who wants to use them for bad stuff!
Even if Bethesda doesn't officially add mechs to Starfield, the community is already doing it! Modders have been adding playable mechs for a while now, and with the new Creation Kit, they should be available for Xbox players soon. Maybe the second DLC after Shattered Space will finally give us what we want: space mechs!
