You've probably heard the criticism and updates surrounding the game, but Masashi Tsuboyama who had the big role of creating this fantastic horror, made some remarkable remarks.
What's so unique about the series is that it's based on Bloober Team, a studio known for their skills and innovative horror experiences from titles such as Layers of Fear and Observer.

So they definitely bring in an experienced sense to the Remake. It was also controversial prior to its release! This update though, shows a bit of progress from what may have been perceived earlier.

It's pretty clear there was some controversy and some hesitation but many have expressed how well Silent Hill 2 has come out! Fans have embraced it as a fresh and interesting approach that allows this classic title to find new footing. It was even rated 8/10 by Screen Rant in their review!

Original Director's Thoughts:

One of the main aspects fans of this game really focused on were the updates! The changes in Silent Hill 2 included updates on the combat, camera angles, but also had the goal of bringing out even more features that those who have loved this title will still get to see.

Tsuboyama said some important, cool and interesting things that were shared over Twitter, the platform where so many fans express their views.

Even though the game made some serious alterations and changes, Tsuboyama still showed his appreciation!

"Silent Hill 2" was released recently, which allowed a new generation a chance to dive into this unique genre!
Tsuboyama gave props to those who worked on it as an incredible job.
He really liked the idea of a newer generation getting to enjoy the experience, so the whole premise makes sense.
"As a creator, I’m very happy about it."

You see it isn't all praises and appreciation.

Tsuboyama even voiced some critique! While the update for the game looks incredible there was something that he was not as enthused about!

If you preorder "Silent Hill 2" you will get some new and cool additions like headgear for the character that you might want to add. While Tsuboyama isn't sure who will be able to use it. He seems to think there are a bunch of fun additions and wants to get a chance to play the remake for himself and is excited to see what changes happened.

Why This Remake Feels Fresh

There is a major shift for the Remake.

It's going back to fixed camera angles, using third-person perspective as well as over-the-shoulder views for the series, a new kind of look that is giving fans of horror a unique experience!

This remake was done, not only for aesthetic appeal. They had to compensate with how limited the processing power was with PlayStation 2., this is a really well-known element from games of that era, and the way they are done today, are pretty unique!

He added how hard he tried with his crew to have those wider shots.

That wasn't possible though. The PlayStation 2 was truly an amazing console. But had major limitations, which they had to work within.

There might be a new wave of innovation with new games in the future.

What's amazing is that the camera is an element of horror Gaming that might just bring out an immersive sense of fear!

In a unique perspective! You get to see what happens as the main character goes through a crazy journey! The more immersive the better! If you have a more cinematic type of game you might not feel the thrills, as well.
