Heat Wave Arena hits Japan on March 14th, 2025! The first card revealed (courtesy of PokéBeach) is Cynthia’s Garchomp ex! That’s huge! Cynthia is a very popular champion, that amazing combination of classy design and formidable power; resulting in her always having immense appeal. Her Garchomp is just incredibly cool! This inclusion in the set adds another layer and those additional elements create amazing value for the collectors who’d like those limited editions; and with those three winning cards from that 2024 Illustration Contest, added in each box set makes for additional collectible appeal.

Now the name might suggest Fire-type Pokémon; possibly emphasizing Heat Wave attacks. It might’ve involved cards like Ash’s Torkoal or Alder’s Volcarona, based on these previous release decisions, as many other cards of similar design had also used similar titles as part of their overarching naming conventions for set names.
