Heat Wave Arena hits Japan on March 14th, 2025!   The first card revealed (courtesy of PokéBeach) is Cynthia’s Garchomp ex! That’s huge! Cynthia is a very popular champion, that amazing combination of classy design and formidable power; resulting in her always having immense appeal. Now the name might suggest Fire-type Pokémon; possibly emphasizing Heat Wave attacks. It might’ve involved cards like Ash’s Torkoal or Alder’s Volcarona, based on these previous release decisions, as many other cards of similar design had also used similar titles as part of their overarching naming conventions for set names.  But nope! It was this surprisingly out-of-left-field choice that is nonetheless, really welcomed by many fans everywhere!

And this release highlights just how important their storyline continues to become!

Rocket’s Mewtwo ex is the card confirmed here. We’ll have Team Rocket's Pokémon; this should already generate tons of anticipation amongst fans. That decision does mean however that many rare Dark-type cards keep value.  And this helps a lot of current players!
