Metaphor: ReFantazio - Unlocking the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon
So, you've conquered Metaphor: ReFantazio, huh? But wait, there's more! There's a super tough secret boss hiding in plain sight. We're talking about the mighty Redscale Apocalypse Dragon—a true test of your skills. Did you ever notice that super mysterious Book of Apocalypse sitting in Akademia during your first playthrough? You can interact with this; yet you probably only saw warnings about touching this mysterious and seemingly very dangerous item. Well, you're unable to touch it unless you have a New Game+ file.
Your first playthrough doesn't allow you to open the book; it's locked up tight. But when you jump into NG+, the Book of Apocalypse shifts from the back right corner; and then conveniently appears right by More's desk—unlocked. Touch that thing to start your insane boss battle against The Redscale Apocalypse Dragon!
Important things before facing the boss!
Before you rush in, know this; a fight this tough, requires you to be absolutely prepared, completely ready for an intense combat sequence that will greatly benefit those already fully leveled, having already gone through significant grinding sessions to unlock certain talents; and equipment. Your NG+ file will have reset your levels; making it a tough fight. Therefore it is strongly advised that you wait for sufficient amounts of leveling and gearing, unless you really want a difficult challenge early game, you could encounter this fairly quickly.
Even if you hit that suggested level cap, some strategies are strongly suggested that this article suggests. And it is necessary to know a particular, important detail! This also matters; Storyteller difficulty completely disables the boss fight; you'll need at least Easy mode for that access! You're aiming for this ridiculously tough challenge after all!
Conquering The Redscale Apocalypse Dragon!
The suggested level is 70 for that appropriately balanced experience. If you really, really want to try; you could also take it on way before reaching that level; however, know that it won’t be exactly an easy fight. That kind of difficulty would defeat this game's purpose.
Those Sublime Spoonfuls will save you, folks. These extend turns (making More damage possible, using abilities before those effects expire); use that as a strategic tactic before actually focusing on using those defensive tactics; but it doesn't simply mean blindly using them! They’re super essential in making sure those powerful attack combos work effectively, minimizing chances for failure. It's also really valuable to understand how important some particular buffs and gear choices will also have here:
- Reverent Crown: Increases action points. Super handy, essential for getting every single advantage possible.
- Knight's Last Stand Boots: Survive those otherwise killing blows at 1 HP.
- Items offering fire and slash resistance are huge because they really do help immensely during combat. It helps minimize how much damage actually affects your team during battle.
Those Archetypes? It depends! Pick based on your own style, but you must select support-focused options for many members, enhancing defense and offense which would give your team every advantage available to counter those dangers this legendary Dragon could bring! You will need at least one support Archetype.
