The Sims 4 world is all about creating and customizing the perfect sim. But it isn't just about fashion, style, and decorating, because building up skills like painting lets your sim get pretty darn good, and when they’re awesome, that means some serious simoleons, yo! Well, for one lucky player, their sim sold a painting for a whopping §21,052, and the internet had to find out if that’s actually real, because usually, even the most epic paintings in Sims don't reach that high!
Here’s the thing though, some sims do really well with the painting skill. A ton of sim players on Reddit were super impressed by this awesome amount of money! Most players said they've never gotten past around §3,000. That’s a serious difference! I mean, a regular Sim might be thinking, "If my sim made that much, maybe they should take up painting professionally" - like, those simoleons are pretty legit.
We can thank uselessweight03 for sparking the conversation - this Sims 4 player spilled the beans that their sim got all those Simoleons from one painting. Here’s where it got really interesting, because uselessweight03 also shared a few key elements that probably got them those bucks, and the main things seem to be mastering those art skills.
A bunch of Reddit commenters pointed out how crucial the "Masterpiece" trait was, which definitely increases the price tag on a painting! Another important one was the “Marketable” trait. Apparently, that can double the cost too. Talk about awesome. However, just having these traits didn’t do the trick for most, with the average Sim selling their paintings for closer to §3,000, or maybe §6,000, but definitely not a mind-blowing §21,052!
You might be thinking "Wow, what does it take to become a master artist" in this Sim universe. Well, you got a lot to learn! Turns out that leveling up the painting skill is critical for selling high-priced art. Apparently, this player said that their sim has a “trait where paintings come out better quality." Now, we have to figure out exactly how that’s working.
Seems like there are two possible traits that are super popular in the Sim world, for really amazing artwork, the “Home Studio” trait is considered really helpful to amp up your painting game, and a lot of gamers agree that's a good move if you want to up your painting score and make Simoleons off of those creations. Then there's the “Natural Light" lot trait that also helps with your artistic pursuits! And those who love taking photos might want to get that one too! The thing is, it’s the “Home Studio" that is the real workhorse. A ton of gamers are swearing by that one.
So, that "rare painting" question still lingers! Is it possible to sell a painting in Sims for that much? We have our own suspicions, but there's no actual cheating evidence. We've got some strong theories, though. We’re definitely not ruling out the chance that this Sim was really creative - but with the combination of a high-level painting skill, those “Masterpiece” and “Marketable” traits, and a “Home Studio”, a rare, amazing, and super-expensive painting is in the realm of possibilities!
Remember that a ton of players make those crazy good paintings when they are messing with Mods, so some are saying "Maybe they're using some cheats or some hidden-ish cheats." No way to actually tell! It's kinda fun to think this might just be an example of one crazy creative Sim and not something easily replicated, right? But in the land of Sims, we know anything can be true – it's part of what makes this game so much fun.
This isn't just a crazy story - it shows a ton of people are thinking about what it takes to sell those super-expensive paintings! There are tons of tips from seasoned Sims 4 players that can make a lot of simoleons when you know how to get those skills and traits. But there’s definitely some effort and strategy required!
Start with making sure your sim's “Painting” skill is fully maxxed! It’s the foundation for the super-expensive pieces, and when your sim’s skill levels get really high, that means even the everyday paintings are probably worth more than they would’ve been when the sim first started out. Think "level-up your Sim’s art world knowledge", then you’re going to start looking at the amazing traits! We already discussed “Home Studio" - it can really amp up a sim's creative output – especially with those extra perks in painting, woodworking, and writing, which really helps get you more stuff you can sell for big bucks! Don’t forget about “Natural Light”! It might not have as high of an output, but this lot trait is excellent to help with those photography skills. We've heard that's especially useful for those super cool and profitable photo gigs. And as for “Masterpiece” and “Marketable"? If you really want to earn simoleons, those are essential! We know this kind of success might be rare in Sims 4, but maybe if you're following all those pro tips you could become a master artist yourself! Or at the very least, make a lot of dough for your Sim.
