The Warner Bros. Games YouTube channel's "Welcome Students" teaser suggests that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions would hit PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on September 3, 2024. Still, the Nintendo Switch version won't hit until the Christmas season in 2024, maybe more than four months later.
The Digital Standard Edition for the game runs $29.99 USD. At $39.99 USD, the Digital and Physical Deluxe Editions are rather more costly. Apart from 2,000 gold redeemable for more in-game items, the Deluxe Editions include four House Packs, described in the table below.
PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will all have the game accessible. Only the Nintendo Switch is having a delayed release among platforms. Unlike the staggered release of Hogwarts Legacy, the PS4 and Xbox One versions will debut with their current-gen counterparts.
The game will give competitive multiplayer modes great emphasis. Based on the gameplay teaser and the game's listings on several outlets, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will presumably center three-versus-three gameplay. Although it's yet unknown if the "competitive online matches against other Quidditch teams" incorporate any kind of ranking system, the long-term draw of the game seems to be online PvP. Given the Quidditch World Cup as the main event, the clip does suggest some kind of contest.
Customizing their characters in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be possible for players. Though there doesn't seem to be any sliders, the gameplay teaser shows an apparently somewhat large character customizing screen with just present possibilities to be mixed and matched. Players can choose the physical look of their character—hair style, skin tone, etc.—but also a range of costume choices including Hogwarts robes, more casual apparel, headgear, and eyewear.
Though the news for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions came mere months after Hogwarts Legacy was unveiled, this is a completely different, stand-alone game. Other than being situated in the wizarding realm and allowing players to play Quidditch, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has no bearing on either Hogwarts Legacy nor the 2003 Harry Potter: Quidditch realm Cup game.
