Is "Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster" Worth It?
Are you a fan of Dead Rising? The series is known for those zombie mayhem and being wild in that big mall, with everyone in those zombie hordes! The new Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has arrived and is ready to bring all the craziness from the original. Frank West - remember the super famous photojournalist? You'll be right back in the heart of the Dead Rising 4 story.
What's New in "Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster"?
Here is the thing: the remake has been given a complete upgrade. It looks totally different. And this is good news!
How Does the Visuals Look in the Remaster?
- We are talking a visual overhaul here - all in high-definition with 4K resolution - plus super smooth frame rates at 60 frames per second. If that doesn’t make you want to grab the controller, you've gotta get checked out by a doctor!
- The character models are much better, especially those Dead Rising Character Models - like Frank. It looks pretty different than before but is way more detailed. And since they're using that cool RE Engine - (you've seen that one used in those Resident Evil remake movies). Everything feels like it’s really been stepped up. You will actually feel immersed in the world with all that new detail!
- There's so much going on visually in the remake. Those food courts and outdoor areas are awesome, the lighting is all different too! I love those night scenes with all the glowing lights. Those graphics are incredible!
- One of my fave moments in the original? It's a scene where Frank West finds a family hiding in a car, with zombies everywhere. It's pretty emotional! And with those updated character models? They're so expressive now, so it really hits harder than before - with those intense expressions.
What Are The Improvements in Gameplay?
While the main plot of the game remains unchanged, you are getting all those awesome tweaks and refinements to the game. This is the same with all those Zombie game re-releases, so you know you will be in for some really big changes!
- Shooting is awesome - those Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Boss Fights are actually way easier since you can move around, aim and fire. The cover system also feels better, because it is a huge change, and those boss battles like the one against Adam the Clown (my personal favorite) are way more fun to tackle!
- The same things go for those weapons. Frank West uses some amazing weapons to beat down zombies - from chain saws, swords and guitars! They really add to that zombie action. They broke easily in the older games but in the new one there is a cool damage bar to give you an idea of when the weapon might be about to go. That really helps, and if you are anything like me you’ve probably lost more than a few of these weapons.
- Photo mode was always a cool feature to get more PP (Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Prestige Points). That is used to level up and earn all those great new weapons! There are different levels that you unlock that give Frank West special powers. This one is super popular. It doesn't change so much from the older version. They actually removed the Erotica genre for a few of those pictures, so you are no longer taking those kind of pictures.
- Frank's costume menu - totally revamped! All those awesome costumes - they are now super easy to find! No need to hunt through the lockers around that big mall.
Overall, if you loved Dead Rising before, then the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is worth picking up! If you didn’t get to play it yet, this new version is the perfect way to get into that action. The graphics are totally better and it is easier to play!
