You might think that a huge game like Baldur's Gate 3 is nearly flawless. But, even with amazing game development from Larian Studios, bugs sometimes happen. That's just a reality for anyone that's a gamer.

What makes this adventure special is the opportunity to meet, bond, and get a new perspective with these other characters who will journey along with you. But in this world of magical items and amazing powers? Even these characters sometimes can get stuck in their world!

There is a character in Baldur's Gate 3 called Wyll. And if you have been a loyal player, you may have noticed he had an annoying bug that caused him to always sound unfriendly and like he had some real negative feelings for you. Even more challenging is when he gives you these unpleasant greetings even if you are giving him an awesome approval rating, in the game!

A Hidden Issue:

There is this crazy situation. In this particular game, the creators fixed one issue where Wyll's dialogue was a bit off but then something strange happened- it created an even worse scenario where this amazing character gets stuck in this kind of unwelcoming personality and just has an issue communicating. But what could the problem be?

It seems it is just one small coding problem in the game.
A line of code was missing.
What's even cooler is a Tumblr user figured it out! The gamer, who goes by the name of autistichalsin came up with the right answer and the fix!

Why is Wyll Broken?

Fans of the game, will have seen that Wyll's bad behavior seems to come up as Patch 7 hit in August of 2023 for those who have PC versions! The developer Larian went back to fix things in that update, however, instead of helping Wyll. His behavior got a whole lot worse! Wyll was given some new behavior with a bit of an "attitude"!

This seems like it would be something simple that Larian Studios could have addressed!

If you are wondering why there are no patches, that's one way of looking at it, however, in the meantime, for all of those who are thinking about what's going on you can imagine that Wyll isn't really trying to be rude and is just in a bad mood! It might just be a sign of how challenging it can be to make it through the dark journey in "Baldur's Gate 3!"

Can Larian Studios Save Wyll?

In an August 2023 update. The developers added several new features including an update called "Photo Mode," and for gamers on "consoles" the update made it possible to finally dive in to this amazing game! It looks like there could be many new updates coming as well! The good news, that Larian hasn't abandoned "Baldur's Gate 3!" That's something worth getting excited about.

With all these cool features coming out! One can't help but think they will give attention to all the cool, special additions, that need to be implemented in the game! The bug, could be added and might get an update at some point.

There was some concern with all this attention on some cool new additions. And even Larian went on to confirm there could be an entirely new photo mode, cross-play, but the development team, still needs time for those additional updates that fans have requested. They might not be as fast! They want to make sure that those patches will make everything smooth for "Baldur's Gate 3." Even more, that will mean Wyll, might get some real support to turn that mood around, and may need some extra updates! It seems, as time passes the developers will go back to the most recognizable problems, that are lingering!

And hopefully a great character that's already gotten an exciting redesign in recent months! Even more. This change has created quite a buzz amongst gamers. That may be something we will have to wait for as the next patch will need to really address this and will probably be one to look out for.

The problem with Wyll is that he's been overlooked by fans and developers, and not as popular as a couple of other characters like Shadowheart or Astarion! Those who play with these figures may have a few different feelings, and this could really change how these developers view those game bugs! It's one of those problems, that might make its way back in. This will also show just how special this game really is!
