Wolverine Goes Rocky! Thing Power Steal in New Marvel Comics!

Wolverine Goes Rocky! Stealing the Thing's Powers in Marvel's Wildest Crossover Yet!

Wolverine Gets a Rocky Upgrade: Trading Adamantium for Awesome Power!

Hold onto your adamantium claws, true believers! Wolverine is about to get a seriously insane upgrade, and it's totally unexpected. This isn't just some small enhancement either – this one changes the character completely. The iconic adamantium-clawed Logan is trading his metal for something far, far more…rocky. He's literally stealing the powers of Marvel's Thing (Ben Grimm) from the Fantastic Four!

Think about it. That legendary brute strength of the Thing is insane, an absolute powerhouse – enough to battle Hulk (Joe Fixit form, even!). And now? Wolverine's taking on those amazing rocky abilities.   Combine that with Wolverine's signature savagery, speed and those already impressive healing skills; this creates a force of nature capable of unimaginable destruction;  this is nothing less than one of Marvel's ultimate killing machines ever made; showcasing immense possibilities for storytelling!

Wolverine's Rocky Makeover: A New Look, Even More Power!

Marvel's revealed this craziness through a sneak peek of Giuseppe Camuncoli’s art (from a series called ‘The Thing! variant covers’). It’s a spectacular sight: We’re seeing a post-Weapon X Wolverine, roaming the Canadian wilderness. The difference?   He is covered in these ridiculously sharp rocky spikes; acting like additional, far more numerous and larger-scaled blades! This transforms Wolverine’s look completely!

This is important for multiple reasons. Those spikes could have amazing offensive abilities but could also easily function as defense against enemies. This amazing and awesome makeover appears in Wolverine #3 (by Saladin Ahmed and Martín Cóccolo) releasing November 20th.  This isn’t just a simple cover, it’s actually a statement: showcasing the sheer possibilities around combining different characters’ powersets!

This Wolverine makeover is only the tip of that ridiculously awesome iceberg. To celebrate the upcoming Fantastic Four saga and movie (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), Marvel is unveiling several other "Thing!" variant covers throughout November and even into December; bringing various other big-name heroes and using this unique theme that leverages the popularity surrounding these characters in powerful ways.

Wolverine's Transformation: Inspired by the Thing's Ultimate Power!

The change in Wolverine's look isn't random. It’s totally influenced by Thing's most powerful state from Fantastic Four #311 (by Steve Englehart and Keith Pollard):  that extra dose of cosmic rays gave him ridiculously strong spiky skin and insane strength.

Camuncoli's design ties those spikes to Wolverine's claws perfectly! That immediately reminds you of this insane moment from Jean Grey #2 (Louise Jones Simonson and Bernard Chang), which features an alternate timeline and gives Wolverine the power of Dark Phoenix. It even lets those claws pop out like this ridiculous projectile weapon; adding even more potential offensive options for a hero previously lacking those kinds of skills. Marvel Comics made this brilliant decision; showing those incredible artistic designs and demonstrating their capacity to merge seemingly entirely different character themes and powersets.  We need to pay serious attention to this event, because even seemingly simple changes could bring a significant amount of change to how Wolverine might become characterized later on!

Conclusion: Will the WolverThing Become a Permanent Fixture in Marvel's Universe?

The "WolverThing" variant is seriously amazing. Yet, it probably won't be the only one, right? Those variant covers previously made huge impacts and this awesome version could become totally mainstream in a new storyline – it could end up showing even further changes for this famous character. We’ve seen previously this kind of event happen with Marvel previously.

This Wolverine design has tremendous potential: That amazing blending of brute strength with this extremely agile combat style creates possibilities not seen in many other similar iterations. Expect this rock-enhanced Wolverine to appear again – maybe even teamed up with those other "Thing" variant heroes. And grab Wolverine #3 on November 20th! Those intense developments really raise huge questions about how Wolverine's character would be shaped moving forward. It is an entirely new iteration for the character and that completely alters so much concerning that potential storyline, not just regarding gameplay mechanics.
