Ultimate Doom: Marvel's Shocking Reboot of Doctor Doom

The Marvel Universe is constantly evolving, surprising fans and critics alike! This time, the spotlight is on Doctor Doom, a legendary figure with a history that's been tweaked a bit.

Doctor Doom Gets a Makeover

The Ultimate Marvel Universe is undergoing a massive reboot, and Doctor Doom is at the center of it all! A significant change is happening in The Ultimates #5 (written by Deniz Camp and illustrated by Juan Frigeri). Forget "Doctor"! He's now simply Doom.

While the "Doctor" title removal might seem small compared to some of the wilder transformations coming out of Marvel, it shows just how much this new iteration of Doctor Doom is separate from the character that's already existed.

This Ultimate Doom is totally different from any we've seen, and it takes a deep dive into the origins, starting with The Maker, the first version of Reed Richards who traveled through time after things blew up for the original Ultimate Universe. Using some wicked time manipulation powers he’s rebuilding an entire world, reshaping everything from history on up. One thing he definitely changed is the introduction of this world's Fantastic Four!

Instead of an incredible moment! The Maker made it into an utter disaster that left only one version of Reed. What happened? He ends up becoming Doom after a bit of torture at the hands of The Maker!

The Ultimate Doom:

But, what’s crazy is this shift isn’t only amazing, and a bit dramatic!

It also brings audiences closer to a deeper insight and shows just how vulnerable this man is. There’s a truly powerful emotional impact for this broken version of Reed and might also predict some truly intense challenges in his efforts to combat The Maker. This is a character that isn't afraid of doing whatever it takes to protect everyone else!

This version of Doom has his life being counted in some powerful and real ways and we have the Ultimate Universe working under a time limit! That really comes from what happened to this series when the Maker appeared in the Ultimate Invasion, meaning everything from that point forward has these incredible moments with time limits that makes every minute count.

After being stopped in this crossover mini series! The word from The Maker is that he is going to show back up within the next 18 months!

Everything Doom and the other heroes do, changes things in significant ways. All the major choices they make will have massive impacts, especially with the focus being on Doom trying to build The Fantastic Four once more!

With so much at stake, and every new storyline bringing that confrontation closer, the anticipation for these changes in the world is pretty epic! And what a crazy storyline this one promises to bring.
