Trini Kwan's Black Dragon Armor: The Ultimate Power Rangers Upgrade!

Power Rangers has always been a blast, filled with iconic moments and epic upgrades! The Red Rangers always get their moment in the sun but other Power Rangers have gotten pretty awesome upgrades as well, and one of the coolest transformations comes from Trini Kwan!

This remarkable upgrade happened in the Comics, showing just how impressive the series can really get! This one was a real treat!

It was created by Kyle Higgins and Hendry Prasetya in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #16 and fans are all going crazy because Trini takes this wicked awesome upgrade and makes it her own! Even fans who had their favorite versions of Power Rangers from TV series, can still appreciate the fact that some of these upgrades might have been more impressive than previous episodes!

The Origin Of The Black Dragon

The Black Dragon, first spotted in BOOM! Studios comics, debuted not as mere armor, but as this major figure in the story that the Power Rangers had to face. It was an intimidating force of nature! But in a surprising twist, it turns out that the villain, the one who originally created this dragon, isn't a random figure. What is a major highlight of the series is Tommy Oliver! Fans knew he had unique powers, thanks to Rita Repulsa's chaos magic! Those powers ended up becoming the perfect key that made it possible for the Black Dragon to get to this new world.

Readers found that the Black Dragon was from this really unique, powerful and almost legendary area called "The World of the Coinless".

It looks like that this amazing story in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (specifically issues #9) featured Tommy Oliver in action! The Green Ranger alongside Billy worked together! What is particularly incredible about the Black Dragon, this awesome antagonist turned out to be metal parts of a machine, a special robot made to bring chaos! The Green Ranger and Billy (the blue ranger) decided they needed to battle it from the inside to finish it. But what did they end up discovering?

There was another universe beyond their own, this world had its own creator- a true big bad: Lord Drakkon!

Trini Kwan And Her Black Dragon Armor

The villain, Lord Drakkon, the absolute best villain, a version of Tommy Oliver from the future and really a menacing character.

As a result of the actions by the other Rangers, he sent the Black Dragon over as his very own menace. There was a big effort made to stop this dragon, as it had become quite troublesome.

Tommy and Billy go off into another universe! That gave Trini Kwan a major opportunity, and she shines!

Trini was fast to discover what the Black Dragon actually was: pieces of the Green Ranger’s Dragonzord!
It wasn’t mere pieces that helped the Black Dragon, but it's real parts! Trini Kwan, and her intellect shines! In the next issue Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #11, Trini is one of the key characters that demonstrates her true intellect, her true gifts, showing her awesome intelligence that really makes her such a remarkable figure!
This made Trini Kwan a favorite character among comic book fans as it shows the intellectual depth of this great character.
Her technical mastery comes to play in finding Tommy and Billy.

What’s super awesome, is what Trini does with the dragon!

It's not enough just to save them!
She made use of this Black Dragon by putting the armor together, showing she was able to tap into those tech skills!
Trini even used the Black Dragon’s power! Giving herself a truly awesome defense and powering that special coin Billy left behind!

With these epic upgrades, Trini helped the Rangers bring Tommy and Billy home!

The Black Dragon Armor Continues Its Legacy

A memorable event, happened during the series 25th anniversary in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #30 and there is Trini from another time period that will become an exciting story to remember! As "Shattered Grid" concluded, we even got to see this powerful hero!

Even after the end of these big adventures! We get another peek into Trini Kwan’s true qualities!

What this Black Dragon Armor event proved, was her intellect!
Not only this but she helped out by keeping the Power Rangers going
And she did a superb job!
Many fans know how deserving Trini is for being considered the leader among Rangers!
