Even the biggest fans of the show might forget about the origins of one of "Peanuts' most popular, and also most recurring jokes, was the football gag. It's easy to forget that at its core, it's not about mean spiritedness or an intent to harm.

In its early years. The gag, was somewhat innocuous as Violet, the other iconic Peanuts character had the football in hand and ended up pulling it away from Charlie Brown as he got ready for a kick! This was actually in 1951 on the 14th of November!
That seems super funny and innocent, but a later event makes it stand out even more.

That moment didn't seem very crazy until two years later as things got to an entirely new, surprising, and somewhat hilarious! A great storyline took place in the series on November 16th, 1952 when it shows how Lucy really puts Charlie Brown through his paces!
