What You Currently Know Andrew Scott, from

Rising to prominence on the BBC series Sherlock alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as the main detective, the Irish actor portrayed a shockingly cunning Moriarty. Though Scott's character in Knives Out 3 is yet unknown, he will once more star opposite Craig's eccentric Benoit Blanc, a detective. Knives Out 3 will also serve as a reunion for Craig and Scott, who earlier acted together in the 2012 James Bond film Spectre, with Scott casting as the secondary antagonist Max Denbigh, also known as C, the corrupt Director-General of the Joint Security Service.

Following Sherlock and Spectre, Scott played the lovable but ethically dubious "Hot Priest" in Fleabag season 2. Scott was first brought to a larger audience with this part, which would lead to future roles in 2023's All of Us Strangers with Golden Globe nominations from both performances. Particularly if Scott is portraying the killer à la Chris Evans and Edward Norton's characters from the first two films, Scott's ability to negotiate between charm and danger makes him a great fit for the multifarious individuals in a Knives Out ensemble of suspects.

James Bond Star Reunites With Daniel Craig In Wake Up Dead Man's Cast Update Knives Out 3

A Knives Out Mystery brings James Bond icon to rejoin Daniel Craig in the most recent cast update. Wake Up Dead Man Following 2019's Knives Out and 2022's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, both of which got Academy Award nominations for Best Screenplay, writer-director Rian Johnson is working on a third whodunit focused on Benoit Blanc, the eccentric detective of Daniel Craig. Recently, Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Civil War) and Challengers star Josh O'Connor joined the Knives Out 3 ensemble as first new members.

Now, not long after O'Connor and Spaeny boarded, the Knives Out 3 ensemble is still growing. Andrew Scott is the most recent actor hired for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, said Variety. Although his character is yet unknown, filming is likely to begin shortly before its 2025 release date.

The Third Knives Out Film Wake Up Dead Man Could Share a Thematic Connection With a Famous Rock & Roll Band, Rian Johnson's Mysterious Title Could Reflect

The movie's title begs interesting questions for several reasons. Off of their 1989 album "Steel Wheels," the band The Rolling Stones features a very well-known song called "Wake Up Dead Man." This could suggest a rock-n-roll motif or could be only a coincidental occurrence given the frequency of rock music in past editions.

Not yet any information has been leaked indicating how closely the title will be associated with the band; it could be some time before the movie's storyline is exposed in any more thorough clarity. Though the idea of the movie is likely to follow the pattern of the first two movies. Rian Johnson's work on the franchise has constantly proved his ability to create interesting puzzles and ensemble cast of suspects. In 2025 it ought to be an interesting release.

The Development of Knives Out

Apart from his reunion with Craig, Knives Out 3 will also signal yet another reunion between Scott and Netflix. Scott starred in the Black Mirror episode "Smithereens," back in 2020, and his performance got him an Emmy nomination. Scott featured in Netflix's black-and- white Ripley adaption in 2024 to great marks. Scott will remain quite visible on Netflix in 2025, appearing in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, scheduled for release there.

Netflix has Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery streaming.
