Poison Ivy is officially back from the dead, and she's got a new look and even more power! That's right, the infamous eco-terrorist and Harley Quinn's love interest has been resurrected thanks to her deep connection with the Green and a little help from Slaughter Swamp.
If you're wondering how this is even possible, you're not alone. Poison Ivy has died a few times before, but this time she's come back stronger than ever. It turns out that her connection with the Green makes her basically immortal. Think Swamp Thing, but way cooler (sorry, Swamp Thing fans).
After being killed by her zombie children (yeah, it's complicated), Ivy was brought back to life in Poison Ivy #24. Solomon Grundy (Gotham's favorite undead dude) had the brilliant idea of planting her in Slaughter Swamp, a mystical place where even Grundy himself has been resurrected. It worked! Ivy is back, and she's got a brand-new costume to boot.
It goes without saying that Harley Quinn was devastated by Ivy's death. Luckily, Harley trusted Grundy and let him help bring her back. After a heart-to-heart about their relationship (and a little bit about Janet, who's also in the mix), they reaffirm their love for each other. It's a classic case of "true love conquers all," even death.
This whole ordeal is just another chapter in Ivy's journey as an anti-hero. She's gone from wanting to destroy all of humanity to understanding that humanity is a part of the Green and needs to be protected. She's also finally defeated her biggest enemy, the Floronic Man, and proven that she's an unstoppable force for nature.
So there you have it, folks. Poison Ivy is back, and she's here to stay. Get ready for more environmental activism, more crazy shenanigans with Harley, and who knows what other surprises this powerful plant-powered woman has in store.
