Actually Miss Buckingham of the Rocks Pirates is "Bakkin".
One Piece's Chapter 1072 reveals an unexpected secret that will permanently alter readers' view of Weevil and his mother. Attaching oneself as a traitor by stabbing her alleged friend Kaku, Stussy, an operative of the covert gang of World Government assassins CP0, reveals In the manga, Stussy is first successful clone produced by the scientific outfit MADS and a clone of Miss Buckingham Stussy of the Rocks Pirates. Fans connected right away and understood that the elderly woman is indeed Whitebeard's old friend since "Bakkin" can also be written as "Buckin" from the Japanese.
Marco mentioned Buckin in chapter #909 and verified that she had belonged in Whitebeard's same pirate crew forty years earlier. Fans are aware that Whitebeard belonged to the Rocks Pirates, one of the most formidable and deadliest teams that have ever sailed the oceans, together with future Emperors Kaido and Big Mom forty years before the present events. The only thing left to know is whether Weevil is indeed Whitebeard's son, given chapter #1072 that Miss Buckingham was one of the Rocks. The most plausible theory is that Weevil is really the half successful Clone of Whitebeard.
One Piece Notes a Relationship Between Whitebeard and Buckin
Chapter #1096 showed a strange view of the Rocks Pirates during the God Valley Incident just when fans had discounted any idea that Weevil might be Whitebeard's son. Although the precise events 38 years ago are yet unknown, the brief flashback showed Miss Buckin and Whitebeard sprinting toward God Valley. Seen hanging to Whitebeard's back, Miss Buckin suggests there might have been a romance between the two.
The God Valley Flashback also verified Miss Buckin was the spitting image of her beautiful Clone Stussy, implying a romance between her and Whitebeard is not entirely unrealistic. Whitebeard did, after all, always want a family, hence it is illogical to believe he did not attempt, in the literal sense, starting one before he came upon his adopted family.
Weevil Might Be a Failed Whitebeard Clone.
Along with other hints sprinkled throughout the narrative, the cover story of chapter #1070 suggested Miss Buckingham Stussy was also a member of MADS, an organization of scientists engaged in among other things cloning experiments. Stussy is Miss Buckingham's Clone, hence she was obviously engaged in that particular endeavor.
Buckin might have taken a sample of Whitebeard's DNA when living among the Rocks Pirates and then utilized it to produce Weevil. But Weevil's stitched-up look and his young demeanor indicate that this experiment did not proceed as planned. Dr. Vegapunk pointed out, after all, accelerating a clone's development has challenges and negative effects, and this most certainly applied to Weevil.
One Piece Clarifies Whitebeard's Connection with Weevil
One Piece at last starts to clarify the relationship between one of its enigmatic characters, Weevil, and Whitebeard, among the fabled strongest pirates with Roger and Kaido. Weevil and his "mother Bakkin have claimed from their first appearance to be respectively Whitebeard's son and his old lover. Although nobody believed them at the time, new information points to Bakkin, at least partially, speaking the truth.
Among the strange secrets in One Piece is Edward Weevil. Given Weevil's terrible appearance, little knowledge, and obvious attempt to profit on Whitebeard's death to claim his estate, Bakkin's assertions appeared somewhat odd. There is really little information on the two characters since they only showed twice in the manga.
