New X-Men Mutants: Axo, Melee, & Bronze! Marvel Comics' Next Generation

The X-Men are back and better than ever! After the fall of Krakoa, Marvel's bringing us a new generation of mutants in a brand-new era, and things are about to get interesting!

New Mutants in Marvel's X-Men

Following the events of Exceptional X-Men #2 (written by Eve L. Ewing and illustrated by Carmen Carnero), Kate Pryde is trying to distance herself from her days as an X-Men. That being said, this long-loved and admired figure couldn't say no to saving the lives of a trio of talented young mutants!

While on an awkward date, Kate Pryde gets the news. A whole group of new and powerful young mutants needs saving, three in particular: Axo, Melee and Bronze. There are even a few villains waiting around.

  • Alex Luna, better known as Axo, is an empath whose abilities make him stand out! That includes changing colors. Axo gets hassled and immediately becomes someone needing protecting.
  • Someone needs to look after this special teen mutant, and someone arrives in that specific moment. Another new mutant, Thao Tran (Melee), a new character with a gift of invisibility and absolutely no control over this gift shows up to defend him!
  • The other member of this team is Trista "Bronze" Marshall. Another person that is just as talented! Bronze has the abilities of being a copy cat, emulating materials with metals! Bronze sees Pryde as someone who helped Bronze deal with her issues, seeing Kate Pryde as her role model!

While Kate Pryde is conflicted and hesitant to step up! There’s already someone looking to guide and assist these incredible new members, that includes Emma Frost. Even as Frost steps in, audiences will have some amazing plot twists they might not expect!

Marvel's Newest Mutants

These are just the most recent characters but the number of mutants in the world has greatly expanded in recent years. In the ongoing storyline in Uncanny X-Men written by Gail Simone and drawn by David Marquez, this adds a new list of powerful youngsters!

While there is hope for this generation, this also indicates even greater possibilities for new characters to be introduced and show just how large the X-Men universe can become, even for fans to dive into and discover. What will the story include for new mutants, well this includes stories around

  • Emma Frost - planning to establish another new school for the X-Men
  • Rogue looking to find new opportunities for a School for Gifted Youngsters
