Lord Drakkon, The Power Rangers’ Darkest Villain, Could Save the Franchise!
Remember Tommy Oliver? That awesome Green Ranger! There’s a really messed up version of him, Lord Drakkon. But what makes this character cool? He could totally save the Power Rangers franchise. Talk about an awesome villain!
Wait - What’s This Lord Drakkon Story?
- It's actually from the Power Rangers comics, done by BOOM! Studios. The idea is that Tommy never actually turned good and stays bad, becoming the world's biggest tyrant - like a dictator!
- Lord Drakkon becomes even stronger - He is the strongest Power Ranger in the whole Power Rangers multiverse because he kills other Rangers! Talk about scary!
- If that wasn't bad enough, he can travel to other universes to go and wreck stuff there, too.
Where Do We See Him in the Comics?
The most amazing Power Rangers comic series story, "Shattered Grid," is where he appears! This huge story had Rangers from a whole bunch of universes and timelines fighting off Drakkon! It’s seriously awesome!
So Could Lord Drakkon Be in a Movie?
- That's the really big thing right now! With all those Power Rangers series that have been running, a lot of Power Rangers fans think that Lord Drakkon would totally fit into a new show, too - a big-time, reboot, of the Mighty Morphin era!
- There are still some really cool Power Rangers stories to tell about Tommy - like how Lord Drakkon first went bad!
- Fans are already going crazy because, remember Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver? If we did get a live-action or animated version of Lord Drakkon, then they'd need a new actor, and there hasn't ever been a replacement for Tommy yet. Even the movie back in 2017, didn't try!
Will We See A Reboot of the Mighty Morphin Era?
You know, there have been a lot of rumors lately. The last season of the Power Rangers series ended a few years back, and nobody knows what’s going to happen next! There's been talk about a Power Rangers Netflix show too.
There's nothing confirmed. Nobody's said anything, so it’s like the real deal with these Super Sentai adaptations. We just gotta wait to find out!
The cool thing is the whole Power Rangers universe can go in some seriously different directions, so we will have to see how this whole Reboot plays out!
We've got Power Rangers history spanning decades! They've been around for so long, so that's a lot of material to explore! They might even use some stuff from the comics like Lord Drakkon's origins! I'd bet they'll be taking inspiration from some really big stories already made.
