Did you know Leia Organa was almost a Jedi Knight?
The Rise of a Jedi:
After the Battle of Endor, Luke Skywalker did something very unexpected: He offered to train his sister, Leia! Leia was unsure what to do at first but her brother really sensed the Dark Side in her.
A Family Affair:
It happened in Marvel's "Star Wars: Battle of Jakku - Insurgency Rising #1, which is out now, this comic is about how Leia is given a chance to really tap into the Force, like her brother. Luke and Leia just experienced some big family moments after Luke discovered the identity of his father.
It seems there were strong emotions in the mix!
- Leia had this special moment to think back and ponder just how much her dad, Darth Vader hurt their family!
- Her pain and sorrow were sensed by Luke who felt that her anger might give into the dark side.
All of the events and the things they went through was something the family went through.
What also gave this a bit of depth was the fact that Vader made this statement that if Luke wasn't on the right side of the force, Leia would turn!
An Understanding About The Force:
The show, it really seems to bring together a lot of interesting elements and how the Force plays a key part in "Star Wars." For one, Luke is concerned about the feelings his sister harbors, especially about his father, but it seems like his feelings were more than just some kind of sibling rivalry.
When Leia had to confront Darth Vader on the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope she experienced immense pain. There was a powerful sense of vengeance.
Even worse, the very thing that brought her some strength was destroyed.
These events make Leia's hesitation to give in to the Force so incredibly significant.
A Brief Jedi Journey:
Fans of the series may remember, that the official "Star Wars" canon does include an aspect that Leia was actually trained. She was able to make her own lightsaber. She wasn't quite the same as her twin brother in her powers.
- Leia had her own powers,
- Luke recognized it in "Return of the Jedi,"
- It showed us her ability with the Force
It looks like Leia's journey did take on another exciting path that fans may have forgotten!
But something really happened.
- Leia's jedi training took a dramatic shift!
- There is a possibility she was sensing the death of her son!
While the moment is pretty surprising. What Star Wars really did is to give fans a sense that the force is in a lot of characters and while it seems it has a mind of its own! Luke, Leia, and even the new characters in this expanding, ever-changing Star Wars universe give these powerful elements an incredibly special place in the entire series!
It looks like we will have plenty of time to learn even more about the Force and just how Leia Organa was given this amazing opportunity and her abilities to use them!
Fans are going to be super thrilled with this addition to the "Star Wars" universe. It is an exciting element of this story that's definitely going to make some noise amongst Star Wars fans, who can't wait to see what else "Star Wars: Battle of Jakku - Insurgency Rising #1" has to offer!
