Iron Man's New Armor: A Steampunk Upgrade That's More Than Meets the Eye

New Armor for Iron Man: a Groundbreaking Reimagining

Tony Stark is starting a new chapter since Iron Man is formally unveiling a steampunk-style suit. From Spencer Ackerman (Waller vs. Wildstream) and Julius Ohta (Hellverine), this new design is presented in a fresh Iron Man launching volume this October. This new book will center on an angry, more violent Tony Stark who has just healed from a major loss and refuses to go through such suffering once more.

Armor improvised by Iron Man

Tony Stark's former armor will fail him in the series, thus he will build an improvised armor "unlike any seen in his over 60-year history." Tony will design, build, and refine this new suit, called the "Improvised Iron Man," as he fights the evil company Roxxon and the terrorist group A.I.M. Suggesting Tony will be at war with the Minotaur - aka heartless Roxxon CEO Dario Agger, who has lately been a major issue for Thor, the covers released thus far promise "the Stark/Roxxon War." With a clear steampunk aesthetic, featuring many energy ports and tubing, Sumit Kumar's variant cover provides a more detailed view of Tony's new armor, revealing fascinating details including the fact his entire body will not be armored (at least initially).

"Improvised Iron Man" Armor Explained by Iron Man

Tony just defeated his recent enemy Feilong in Invincible Iron Man #20, and Emma Frost helped to restore his great fortune. Having lost friends and priceless resources at Feilong's hands, Tony seems reluctant to ever lose so much again, even in front of formidable foes like AIM, Roxxon, and a fresh Iron Monger, having been restored to his full power. "Following today's conclusion of Gerry Duggan's Invincible Iron Man, Tony Stark is back on top after regaining control of his company, armor, and confidence," Marvel's press release on the issue notes. He is resolved never to reach rock bottom once more, thus when familiar threats like Roxxon and A.I.M. resurface, they will be greeted by an Iron Man more than ready to fight back, play dirty, and release every bit of his intelligence to bring them down! Tony will create a brand-new armor unlike any seen in his over 60-year history when his best of his own technologies fails him. Dubbed the "Improvised Iron Man, fans will see it assembled throughout the series as Tony does what he does best - tinkering and upgrading it to counter anything the world throws at him. The show will also introduce a fresh Iron Monger with an apparently-powered new armor."

The New Armor of Iron Man: Substacing the Mysterium Armor

Tony's new Improvised Iron Man suit replaces his recent Mysterium Armor, a suit composed of almost-indestructible metal that's immune to everything from magic to Spider-Man's spider-sense, and will most fascinate fans. Tony is trading down to an apparently more ramshackled model, yet it's among the most potent suits he has ever worn and most definitely the most powerful human-sized armor he owns. Why is he doing this? The show will address this issue, but the material thus far points to Mysterium perhaps failing Tony. Given the metal is now driving the whole galactic economy, Marvel Comics may suffer catastrophic results. Nevertheless, the absence of Mysterium does not mean the new Improvised Iron Man will not have benefits since it seems rather modular and able of adjusting to various threats.

The effect of the new iron man armor

Fans will welcome the launch of a fresh Iron Mongoler. One of Tony's most recognizable enemies, Obadiah Stane even made appearances in the MCU via Jeff Bridges. Now behind the mask, someone else is assuming the most personal, dangerous, and well-known dark reflection of Iron Man. Iron Man's new series brings big ideas as Tony Stark adopts a crazy new method to create the best armor available for any given threat.
