This isn't your grandpappy's fiery dude— this version embraces all that is cool and uniquely different. Jim Hammond's revival will help shake up some familiar Avengers heroes and we can easily expect his appearances in other places too!

This seriously impressive, impressive reinvention really gets the recognition and celebrates the character's true value; his role becomes important given what transpired earlier; his role becomes significant given he's being promoted as an A-list hero in Marvel's Ultimate Universe which features fresh interpretations and takes on familiar, classic Marvel heroes. The Maker actually kills iconic characters (like the Fantastic Four!), alters origin stories (including Spider-Man’s), and even corrupts others (hello, Hulk!). That teenage Tony Stark and other rebellion fighters work to overcome and fight the Maker.

Free Comic Book Day 2024: Ultimate Universe/Spider-Man #1 showcases those early encounters. The Ultimates, who fight back against the Maker, raid that villain’s vault. That vault had a ton of trophies and body parts (yikes!) including the bones of Wolverine and parts of Sentry's cape! It's here where the grand reveal of Captain America's new plan comes through: using a molotov cocktail to bring The Human Torch back from his long slumber!

A burning dude isn't especially novel now. Those intense fires may look good for one issue but its consistent appearance in that recent Fantastic Four series meant another way is needed! And boy does the Ultimate Universe deliver a huge and successful revitalization and change for the character itself! It is not some poorly conceived choice! And you might notice many reasons why the Ultimate Universe's revamp is totally successful. They’re taking Hammond's android aspect as the central focal point, making the whole character design super innovative, emphasizing how radically unique this really is, becoming another critically important aspect to highlight its value; really improving its visual aspects for a new audience.
