Marvel Brings Back Its Goofiest Character, But It's Terrifying!
Marvel just resurrected their weirdest character ever, but with a twist that's probably too scary for the MCU! Blood Hunters, Marvel's summer event, features a story called "The Fall of the House of Udder" in issue #3. It's about Hellcow, a vampire cow, and let me tell you, it's wild!
In the story, we meet Levi, who's working on a farm alongside an old man. The farm is pretty mysterious, but Levi doesn't ask questions. One night, he finds the old man being eaten by Hellcow! Levi then makes a deal with Hellcow: he brings her victims, and she doesn't attack him. He thinks they have a bond, but of course, Hellcow ends up turning on him too.
Hellcow is a classic Marvel character
Hellcow was created by the crazy genius Steve Gerber, and first appeared in a Man-Thing comic way back in 1974. She was just a normal cow who got bitten by Dracula, and turned into a bloodthirsty vampire! It's pretty wacky, but Gerber was known for his surreal and out-there stories, and Hellcow is definitely one of his most memorable. He brought a new kind of craziness to Marvel, and Hellcow is a perfect example.
But she's probably too much for the MCU
The Blood Hunters story is a lot darker than anything you'd see in the MCU. A Vampire Cow, eating people? Yeah, that's not exactly PG-13! It's gory and brutal, and it probably wouldn't fly with most MCU fans. It's just too weird and creepy for a franchise that's mostly about superheroes and space battles.
But even though Hellcow might be a bit too much for the MCU, it's still a cool character, and it's awesome that she's back! It's a fun throwback to the wilder days of comics, and a reminder that Marvel's universe can be as crazy as it wants to be!
