This whole process of rehabilitation began because his own personal villainy, the events surrounding that attack on innocentMorlockscreated this immense sense of regret, triggering his sudden shift in mentality, showcasing a redemption only earned through repentance and actions reflecting a deeply developed moral sense.
He initially found himself acting somewhat out of place, yet quickly finds his position alongside those mutant peers! That whole acceptance came swiftly; thanks to this event and an incredible demonstration of compassion towards those mutant allies that had a long-lasting effect. He falls deeply forRogue, another major element, forming deep emotional ties that later define the development of Gambit's own personality!
