Fear Hole in Rick and Morty: Rick's Guilt Trip
What is the "Fear Hole" in "Rick and Morty"?
That "Fear Hole" is something out of this world. It was introduced in the newest Rick and Morty episodes. But in Rick and Morty Season 7 - it's the real deal.
What's Rick Afraid Of?
Even the smartest dude in the Rick and Morty Universe - Rick Sanchez, can get scared! Remember, Rick is supposed to be super smart. That was shown back in Season 1 when he used the Fear Hole, but this time it really goes down, because it turns out Rick is super freaked out about the stuff he's messed up in the past!
- Think back to the moment when Rick used his scientific know-how to transform Earth into a planet filled with messed up Cronenbergs. But, instead of staying on this new, crazy Earth with Morty Smith, Rick and Morty just jet off! They left Summer Smith and even Jerry behind. What’s really weird is, he totally messed everything up on this original planet, but didn't even feel bad for Beth! We don't think Rick cared too much.
- And we thought he was heartless. The funny part is that when Rick actually went inside the "Fear Hole", the one character that got to him the most was the original Beth! They turned her into this scary, creepy creature! Seeing this messed up, horrifying version of Beth was a total gut-punch! Rick felt this terrible, heavy guilt, especially since his character has often left the mess of the situations to others.
So How Does The Fear Hole Work?
It's a big mind-bending trick! Imagine Rick getting all those awful moments of his past, all the messed up worlds, and then having all his decisions reflected back at him! Think about it like those crazy Rick and Morty Fan Theories - he's faced with all those crazy messed up planets he destroyed. He even had this horrifying experience with the world of Mr. Frundles.
Is It Important?
- This was part of an extra special episode - the Rick and Morty 10th Anniversary Special. It wasn’t the most obvious move, to show that Rick is even capable of remorse and self-doubt! This special is worth checking out because we see a whole new side to Rick Sanchez.
- It is definitely a good thing for the story! This all makes the Rick and Morty episodes even more intense, showing that there's more depth to their characters. That also means that Season 7 has been on fire with its story details! It just brings the show to another level. It seems like Rick's bad actions finally made a real impact. This whole Fear Hole situation might just turn Rick and Morty into something we couldn't have even imagined - more amazing.
- It just might be what the show has been missing, though we know a ton of fans love those wild moments of adventure. We can expect a ton of crazy adventures, and wild plots in future seasons - you'll just need to keep checking for those new Rick and Morty episodes.
I gotta say, Rick and Morty is such a wild show. They never fail to make us laugh and think about what it would be like to have amazing Rick and Morty Powers!
