The Sixth Dimensional Imp from Hell, Doom-Mite, is the newest threat to Superman.
Superman is currently facing a menace considerably more potent than the enormous Doomsday could ever dream to be. Superman has faced some formidable foes in the past, but this latest one almost defies logic. This danger originates from the Sixth Dimension, a realm beyond our comprehension.
The terrifying character known as Doom-mite attacks the Fifth Dimension at the start of the story. After destroying the Just-Us League of the Fifth Dimension, he set out to locate Earth's best champion and arrived on Earth. Doom-Mite is determined to show off his power to the heroes of Earth now that he has identified his victim.
A Nightmare in Six Dimensions: Doom-Mite
The Justice League gets ready to battle Doom-Mite when he finally makes his way to Earth in Batman/Superman: World's Finest #28. However, Doom-mite eliminates the Justice League with a simple finger snap, leaving Mr. Mxyzptlk, Jimmy Olsen, and Robin standing. Afraid about Doom-Mite's strength, Mxyzptlk chooses to lend Jimmy his Fifth-Dimensional abilities in order to assist Olsen.
Jimmy is first confused by his new abilities, but he soon gets used to them and utilizes Mxyzptlk's magic to throw a huge pie in Doom-Mite's face. As the combat starts, Jimmy almost gets thrown into a tanker by Doom-Mite. But Jimmy pushes himself over the edge and becomes a hero who looks like Superman. But Olsen cannot manage Doom-Mite's strength. Robin attempts to divert Doom-Mite's attention by calling him a coward who uses his strength to pick on lower realms while Batman, Superman, and Bat-Mite are traveling around the many dimensions. Regretfully, Doom-Mite is unfazed and unleashes a strong energy blast on Robin.
How Doom-Mite Took the DCU By Storm and Where He Came From
When Mr. Mxyzptlk realized Doom-Mite was a problem, he gathered the other Fifth-Dimensional imps in the Just-Us League to deal with it. Regretfully, they were more engaged in debating which hero was the greatest. When Doom-Mite and imps fashioned after the most iconic DC Universe Villains arrived, only Bat-Mite and Mxyzptlk were able to flee. Doom-Mite promises, before they go, to follow them and track down the greatest champion of Earth, using force if needed.
Detectives Bat-Mite and Mxyzptlk alert Batman and Superman to the threat at the same moment as the Justice League starts sending out distress signals. The heroes divided into two teams: Superman and Bat-Mite on one side, and Batman, Robin, and Mxyzptlk on the other. When they go to their friends, they discover that they are fighting evildoers with imps. Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite learn that Doom-Mite is purposefully creating chaos in order to identify Earth's greatest hero, while the heroes defeat their enemies.
The greatest threat that Superman—or any other DC superhero—has ever faced is Doom-Mite.
Over his lengthy career, Superman has encountered numerous formidable adversaries, such as Darkseid, the Anti-Monitor, and Doomsday. But this is not like any other threat he has faced from the Sixth Dimension. Doom-Mite is far more powerful than even Mr. Mxyzptlk, who is more powerful than Superman. Time and space merge in the Sixth Dimension, and Doom-Mite is a force that even Mxyzptlk cannot comprehend.
No one has been able to successfully challenge Doom-Mite thus far. Jimmy Olsen's efforts have been fruitless, even with the use of Mxyzptlk's power. Doom-Mite dispatches Jimmy's army of Fifth-Dimensional Imps with ease when he returns with them. How can Superman battle a creature that could be one of the most powerful beings on the planet when he couldn't even take on Mxyzptlk head-on?
In what way will Superman defeat Doom-Mite?
Superman's interactions with Mxyzptlk demonstrate that he has dealt with god-like entities before. Maybe you can convince Doom-Mite to say his name backwards. Or perhaps he has to be subdued with some other mental trick. Superman needs to move swiftly, regardless of the plan he decides on, as Doom-Mite poses too much of a threat to be let loose in the DC Universe.
Dc Comics' Batman/Superman: World's Finest #28 is currently on sale. The future of the DC Universe is at stake in this fight between Superman and Doom-Mite, which is just getting started.
