Commander Star vs. Batman: Gotham's New Antihero Breaks All the Rules!

Gotham City. The home of Batman. A city known for its crime and its heroes, but there's a new face in town! And he’s changing the game. A new character named Commander Star is ignoring a key rule set by Batman and is ready to disrupt Gotham City forever!

Commander Star's Arrival

In Batman #153 (by Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jiménez, Tomeu Morey, and Clayton Cowles), a new hero comes to town to really challenge what Batman stands for. Batman's in a tough situation, having to stop some getaway vans. He didn't expect Commander Star to step up. They worked together initially, taking down bad guys but what is going to leave everyone talking is Commander Star using firearms right in front of bystanders! It's wild and something completely outside of Batman's well-known no-kill and no-gun rule!

Batman's Rules

Batman has rules, many rules that many may never know about. One of his main directives: never kill, and a large part of this is that Batman never uses guns! You might even ask- Why is that?

Bruce Wayne has a dark history that made him commit his life to becoming Batman. There were violent acts but even with all of this darkness. He's changed the rules of fighting crime in Gotham City, giving hope. He knows using guns will likely get people killed.

Even some allies and sidekicks have a very difficult time adjusting and some ignore that main rule on occasion! Red Hood, for example, but this is completely different! Commander Star is showing himself to be a person who not only uses weapons! He makes things way simpler.

Commander Star's Method

The scene where Commander Star first makes his arrival shows his extreme methods in comparison to Batman.

He openly fires guns which is alarming to see for any viewer. Batman feels this threat very intensely because what it's saying is his own role is becoming obsolete!

The biggest blow came when he makes an attempt to replace the Dark Knight, which shows Commander Star's arrogance!

Fans will be wondering, is this going to be someone to celebrate or villainize?

While the suit looks similar to that of Captain America this has some darker implications because the very acts that he has just made!

He seems to have the support of the police department which might mean Gotham City has even more conflicts on the horizon! He isn't your average hero but a person who could easily take down this hero and maybe even bring evil!

Other Attempts to Replace Batman

It appears Batman has been getting a real test, as this is the way "Commander Star shows up. He isn't alone in having some arrogance as there have been plenty of those that have attempted to try and steal his place.

Gotham Girl and Gotham were very threatening as characters!

They are strong, even capable of overpowering Justice League
Even threatening to unseat Batman from his role.

Commander Star, though is showing us a bit of a different path and may bring to life this interesting clash of ideology in his role in the upcoming issues!

Batman's Unwavering Resolve

It looks like Batman might have a tough moment here and he even begins to be considered a villain because of Commander Star.

But Batman has fought tougher battles and that includes overcoming threats that include weapons like guns! What stands out, too, is that what this shows everyone. Is even when there's opposition from within, Batman will rise! His resolve is something that is unflappable! Even though Commander Star might try and take away the things that the city depends on! Batman will persist and keep protecting Gotham!
