A dark reflection of the Avengers Tower is found in Blade's Temple of the First Blasphemy.
Both in the real world and the Marvel Universe—especially with the inclusion of the Avengers Tower in the latter case—the skyline of New York City is an incredibly famous sight. The City That Never Sleeps recently gained a horrific new landmark, one that stands as a pillar of probably the worst evil to ever scourge this world: vampires. But the Avengers Tower isn't the only addition to NYC in Marvel Comics.
In Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz's Blood Hunt #4, Blade (who has been covertly replaced by an enigmatic, dark force) and his group of superhuman Vampires, known as Bloodcoven, have successfully used Darkforce Energy to blot out the sun and unleash an innumerable number of vampires upon humanity. And now that Blade and his Bloodcoven have taken control of a stronghold they've built in the center of New York City, they've permanently changed that famous skyline in the deadliest way imaginable.
The Dark Opposite of the Avengers Tower Stands for the Team's Greatest Loss
Earth's Mightiest Heroes guarded the world, and the Avengers Tower served as a reminder of this to the people of New York City and the whole planet. People knew they were safe whether they caught a glimpse of the building from the street or when they saw it from a distance as part of the NYC skyline. Even though the Avengers hardly ever functioned out of the structure itself, it served as a symbol of optimism for the entire world.
The Temple Of The First Blasphemy is the absolute opposite of everything that makes Avengers Tower great and what it stands for in the world. If there is any pillar the Temple stands on, it is one of doom. It serves as a somber reminder that people on Earth will never again see the light and will have to spend the rest of their lives in constant terror and violence as vampire prey.
A Sign of Vampiric Dominance is the Temple of the First Blasphemy
Blade and his Bloodcoven moved the Temple Of The First Blasphemy from Atlantis to New York City, from where they will command the numerous vampire legions dispersed throughout the world. Some of Marvel's finest superheroes, such as Black Panther and the body of Doctor Strange, are among those Vampires; they are undoubtedly the first of many heroes to succumb to vampirism.
Covered in the bleeding runes of the vampires' terrible power, the Temple of the First Blasphemy is a vast, monstrously big building that reflects a horrible, twisted interpretation of gothic architecture. It's an obvious representation of the vampires' absolute power and domination over the world.
The Blood Hunt Event Illustrates the Vampire Threat's Severity
The Blood Hunt event presents a terrifying world in which vampires have taken over Earth. Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers, suffered their worst setback at the hands of the Bloodcoven, a pack of superhuman vampires headed by a Blade under possession.
This incident emphasizes how serious the vampire danger is. Vampires have entered society, and the heroes who are meant to keep them out are succumbing to the dark side. The Blood Hunt is a war to rescue the light from the undead's grasp, not only for humanity's survival.
