Batwoman Takes a Gun to Save Jinny Hex
Batwoman decides to remove the weight from a child since she understands it is too much for her to handle. She then turns that weight onto herself. What Batwoman must go through in this issue relates not only to the bravery Batwoman displays through her sacrifice but also to how much guns genuinely can aid as opposed to damage in the DC Universe.
Batwoman's sacrifice twists the Bat-Family's venerable story on weapons. Should Batwoman fail to resolve her dilemma sooner rather than later, this choice to carry this cursed gun will have a major effect on her and her stories always. Otherwise, every waking minute a ghost will be at her doorstep. Whether she discovers a solution or is permanently cursed, Batwoman gives her sense of peace up to save the life of a small child. On page, Kate Kane has made among the most moral decisions she has ever taken.
Batwoman's Haunted New Weapon Shows the Restlessness of the "No Guns" Rule
Though for a good purpose, Batwoman breaks the biggest rule of the Bat-Family. Originating from Batman's early experience with gun violence that claimed the lives of his parents, the Dark Knight has ingrained in his sidekicks and allies never to use a gun under any situation. If not more so, the No-Guns Rule is exactly as severe as the no-kill rule of the Bat-Family.
In Outsiders #8 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Robert Carey Batwoman discovers a loophole to excuse carrying a gun. Picking up and using a gun, Batwoman violates Bat-Family rules only to save someone else's life. Batwoman discovers upon first meeting DC's modern western hero, Jinny Hex, that ghosts from the Old West are hunting down the gunfighter. From the spirit of her great-great-grandfather, Jonah Hex, she quickly learns that this gun is cursed; every man Jonah killed in his day will torment whoever picks it up next for the rest of their life. Batwoman grabs Jonah Hex's enigmatic gun for herself rather than leaving Jinny with the cursed weapon.
Batwoman: An Intriguing Narrative
Batwoman takes on the mantle of the titular character in the absence of her cousin Bruce Wayne, who left Gotham City three years before, following the tale of Kate Kane as she returns to the city after years away. Kate soon discovers, though, that her twin sister Beth is alive and has turned into the terrible monster Alice, who wants nothing more than to see Kate and their father, Jacob Kane dead and feels she was abandoned by them.
Prime Video has the seasons for $9.99 for Prime Day.
Batwoman Highlights Gun Versatility Within DC Universe
In the Bat-Family, weapons are a divisive topic; for the longest run, member Red Hood has been at conflict with his own family by employing them. Batwoman's sacrifice, nevertheless, twists the Bat-Family's venerable story about guns. Though most of the time firearms exist to take lives, in this case Batwoman uses a gun to save Jinny's life; it is the only means she can do it. Though Batwoman's choice adds a fresh intricacy surrounding a weapon that has been villified throughout the years, it is unlikely to affect the Bat-Family's posture anytime soon.
DC Comics now have Outsiders #8 available.
The Starting Point of the Lightwhip
The lightwhip's introduction in The Acolyte will make good on lore originally debuted almost forty years ago, which is arguably most exciting about it. Mary Jo Duffy's comic Star Wars ( 1977) 95 first presented the lightwhip via the Sith Lady Lumiya, who carried it in a battle against Luke Skywalker personally. It returned to canon with Vernestra, then it seemed to show a few more times in Legends until finally showing up live-action.
Thanks to showrunner Leslye Headland's adoration of the Legends timeline, this is only the first of many Expanded Universe hat-tips The Acolyte already has and will make. But this also makes good on canon material by bringing a vital component of the High Republic to life, which makes the live-action debut of the lightwhip more noteworthy. Though it's previously hinted to in a recent teaser, the lightwhip will surely see some more amazing action in The Acolyte, which is due to premiere in just one more week.
