Recent rumors abound regarding the likelihood of the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, resurfacing in direct Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) enthusiasts are especially excited about this news since the Russo brothers are well-known for their work on highly regarded MCU films including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, has responded to the speculations around the Russo Brothers' possible comeback to oversee the next two Avengers Movies. Feige responded subtly to the conjecture even though he did not specifically confirm or refute the rumors. Feige said in an Inverse interview, "No I can't comment on it except to say it was somebody else a couple of weeks ago and I look forward to see who it is going to be next week. We would see.
Feige's remarks imply some validity to the rumors, but right now he is not ready to verify anything. This is in line with Feige's typical approach to big announcements: he usually waits until a deal is closed before releasing any official statement. Feige's mysterious answer has sparked even more conjecture on the possible Russo Brothers' participation in the next Avengers Movies.
The Russo brothers and Marvel Studios most likely are in early stages of negotiations right now. This would help to explain Feige's hesitation to either support or refute the rumors. Studios often follow the custom of not openly acknowledging directorial negotiations until a deal is struck in order to prevent any early enthusiasm or disappointment.
A big event would be the possible comeback of the Russo brothers to the MCU. Considered as one of the most successful directorial teams in the superhero subgenre, their participation in the next Avengers movies will probably attract a sizable viewership. A significant change in the MCU is the likelihood that the Russo brothers will oversee Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars; fans are therefore much awaited any more updates.
Avengers Five: Kang Dynasty
Scheduled for May 2026, Avengers 5: Kang Dynasty is expected to have a fresh hero cast. Building on the events of the last MCU phases, the movie will culminate in a confrontation with the strong and mysterious Kang the Conqueror.
Avengers: Stealth Wars
Approved to be the climax of the Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for a May 2027 release. Heroes from all the multiverse will be gathered in the movie to confront a cosmic threat of hitherto unheard of scope. Featuring multiple worlds colliding and heroes fighting across several realities, the movie is likely to adapt aspects of the classic Marvel Comics event of the same name. With the fate of the whole multiverse hanging in the balance, it is expected to be the grand finale to the Multiverse Saga.
