Young Justice Multiverse Team-Up: 10 DC Heroes Ready for a Comeback!

DC's Young Justice Needs a Multiverse Makeover: 10 Young Heroes Deserving a Comeback!

DC's Multiverse: A Playground for Young Heroes Needing a Team-Up

DC's multiverse is exploding with new young heroes— some brand new, some wildly different versions of classic characters from alternate Earths! Each limited series brought something new to the table, but after the initial adventures, these New Heroes seem to be forgotten! DC needs to follow the lead from its established adult Multiversity team and form its own Young Justice Multiverse team! And to make things really clear, this needs to be done very soon!   Why? There are simply so many unexplored character narratives; these plots add incredibly vast dimensions to previously under-utilized characters that are waiting for an entire creative narrative arc built and designed especially for them. And we know the writers have ideas! They have many of these already!

This concept isn't new: DC’s already had Multiverse books. The creative teams always have fun playing "what if" scenarios and designing unique alternate timelines that enhance the original material! Some completely fresh and imaginative new characters; alongside several radically different and fresh takes on already-established, incredibly familiar and widely popular characters which already had several previous iterations made over time– some successful and widely liked while others failed immensely. And it makes those long-dormant plots ready to re-ignite!

9. Jackie Napier: The Joker's Daughter, Fighting for Justice!

Daughter of the Joker and Harley QuinnJackie Napier (who's surprisingly great!) started appearing earlier, briefly as a baby! She’s now leading a complicated, troubled life, fighting prejudice alongside her brother; She's completely fighting for a much better reality and a better future! With Harley as her mom and Bruce Wayne as a stepdad? Her potential’s limitless. It would create an epic character arc; an opportunity never before explored until the current narrative involving her and this incredible journey which demonstrates what those challenging origins and histories could eventually mean, for good. The creative teams know where this should go and its incredible potential needs to be tapped and utilized soon!

8. Bryce Napier: The Calm Counterpoint to Jackie’s Chaos!

Comic book art: the traditional Justice League meets their counterparts from the Multiverse. Image

Jackie’s brother? Another interesting character! He’s equally affected by his Joker dad but expresses it far more subtly. Despite those complicated early life experiences; resulting in those profound issues, which might lead into many possible conflicts involving their troubled history.   This shows surprising potential which the writer could expand later on: He is thoughtful and displays excellent leadership despite his relatively young age and should easily slot into any potential heroic roles to greatly further his already impressive arc and character growth.

7. Jess Chambers: Earth-11's Speedster Sensation!

Originally, Jess Chambers showed up in Future State as Flash— but her storyline deserves to continue. Multiversity: Teen Justice (which centers around gender-bent Teen Titans!) highlighted just how great and exciting these new plots could be. Her trajectory, shown in Multiversity: Teen Justice— a journey from young hero to the next Flash–totally deserves its next chapter.

6. Ashley Rayburn (Primer): The Paint-Powered Superheroine!

Ashley Rayburn (aka Primer) is completely fresh to the DC universe (and not even in the prime Earth!).  That new twist using the chemically-modified paint, combined with using the inhalation technique. Her powers really make for a completely fresh unique hero and its completely un-utilized powers within that large context mean that there is serious untapped potential that demands proper development in the near future and that only utilizing this extremely fresh concept could deliver amazing outcomes. That uniqueness makes her crucial addition! The lack of prior experience within any prior team implies she requires training in teamwork and that such moments could create compelling future plotlines in any story!

5. Mia Queen: Green Arrow's Legacy Continues!

DC might have mostly dropped the Arrowverse —the universe created across many successful CW shows–  but the legacy continues! That world provided plenty of fantastic additions; which includes many incredibly capable new characters, and it's clear some characters demand continuing stories. The incredibly strong Mia Queen (Green Arrow’s daughter who’s grown to be a new Green Arrow) was even part of that massive Earth Prime event in 2022! She's super compelling– she's had an immensely rough life (dystopian Star City) needing immense strength. Bringing Mia to a multiverse team re-establishes her position in DC canon and helps establish a new plot, finally putting her alongside that large hero collective. And she absolutely deserves all the accolades! Her experience as a relatively isolated hero implies there are various unexplored relationships she might eventually build that could be a perfect plot point for continued story development.

4. Kal-El (DC Mech): The Kryptonian in a Mech Suit!

DC Mech stands out in its use of mechs; a concept which already shows promise and potential! Its unusual twist (large mechs fighting parademons) includes that incredible version of Kal-El! His unique upbringing–growing up within a mech— changed everything; adding those fresh new elements to the original origin story for this popular and iconic character, creating an alternative storyline which hasn't really been expanded. This could produce those intense developments: He has to fight like his parents, which would result in interesting conflicts between loyalty to this family and establishing that self-made hero. That could create a seriously strong conflict-based storyline!

3. Jacob Pierce: The Prince Who Returned From Death!

Mia Queen in Arrow Season 8 Image

Jacob Pierce (DC’s Dark Knights of Steel) originally perished. Then his unexpected revival made him stronger! It emphasized those serious and emotional elements; those previously-untapped possibilities: His brush with death—his changed worldview. It would result in fascinating internal conflicts; those unexplored moral themes surrounding heroism when confronted by death itself which requires extensive development in those specific future scenarios!

2. Cameron Kim (City Boy): The Hero with a Moral Compass!

DC Mech's Kal-El with a blueprint of his suit in the background. Image

Cameron Kim (aka City Boy) is new and impressive. His ability to access cities' collective memories makes him truly special and creates incredible narrative depth: This is demonstrated in City Boy (where we explore this power) using that incredibly unique power and unique history which would have implications for how stories can be built for this relatively unexplored hero in various multiverse contexts! He grapples with his morality and that inner darkness.   It would provide so many opportunities to generate multiple conflicts! This is such wasted potential! More conflict-driven storylines surrounding that troubled and uncertain character should be developed more extensively to demonstrate how morally grey some key elements must be in a story!  He also needs better exploration of how these powers might impact various others.

1. Mia Mizoguchi (Maps): Gotham Academy’s Time-Traveling Detective!

Mia Mizoguchi (aka Maps) is super idealistic in Gotham Academy. But Birds of Prey (Kelly Thompson) introduces Maps’ future self – equipped with a time-traveling device!  Yet despite her past and prior ties to Batman's allies, she's surprisingly lacked extensive character development. It adds that opportunity: It puts her in a team of people using meta and alien skills – a fantastic way to continue this story. She finally fits in.

Bonus: Donald Troy (Multiversity: Teen Justice)

City Boy with the avatar of Gotham Image

Donald Troy,  Earth-11's Donna Troy, also needs further stories in future iterations: His complicated ties with Raven, his lack of background development; that hint towards continuation really demands further attention; It suggests immense value that needs proper exploration! This is particularly clear in Earth-11. His story— and Earth-11's Amazons'—could greatly affect future plots in an extensive manner!   This all-important detail provides multiple plot hooks.

These heroes are awesome. They demand better, larger narratives and many story arcs which could greatly showcase this; they’ve got those seriously compelling unexplored histories that can totally transform future DC stories. A Multiverse Young Justice team can give them the spotlight they totally deserve; adding fresh depth, diversity, and some seriously thrilling stories in DC’s expanding multiverse, which is completely crucial to re-establish some of its older characters with an interesting, exciting spin and a refreshing viewpoint from a newer generation. It makes perfect sense.
