Godzilla was unhappy when he arrived into the DC Universe. Like several of the most well-known Titans from the Monsterverse, Toyman abducted him from his house using Dreamstone. Lost and disoriented, Godzilla headed directly at Superman, the biggest threat it came across. Superman fought while the kaiju wrecked Metropolis. Shazam was there to assist, though, and inadvertently reverted to Billy Batson. Superman left badly shaped after being hit squarely with Godzilla's atomic breath and was obliged to protect the young man.
Atomic breath and heat vision were utilized against one another once in Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #2, strangely balancing Godzilla and Superman's forces. Here, though, both assaults are merged to create an even more amazing and destructive onslaught. As viewers would recall, Godzilla's atomic breath in Godzilla vs. Kong was strong enough to bore a straight hole through the Hollow Earth. The twice as strong blast the Skull Devil experienced clearly culminated in a terrible end.
Though in Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong all hell is breaking out in a battle among heroes, villains, and Titans, Godzilla's atomic breath is among the most potent attacks in the MonsterVerse. Superman has healed from Godzilla's strike in Brian Buccellato, Christian Duce, and Tom Derenick's Justice League vs. Godzilla #7. Following his briefing on the Titan crisis, Superman descends the water to release Godzilla, therefore inspiring the monster to follow him.
When the two go to Metropolis, the Justice League seeks to destroy a resurrected Skull Devil. Godzilla attacks the Skull Devil and starts charging his atomic breath while Superman gets ready with his heat vision. Before Kong strikes a last blow, Godzilla and Superman discharge their lasers simultaneously.
Though Godzilla's atomic breath is among the most potent assaults in the MonsterVerse, this is the first time he has ever had an ally capable of enhancing his trademark strike. When all is said and done, Superman sends the kaiju back to the MonsterVerse, maybe the last time they consider. This is one of the few times Godzilla came against someone outside of the MonsterVerse who could match the force of his atomic breath and assist him to double the potency of his greatest assault.
