From his father, Dylan Brock took on the Venom mantle when Eddie ascended to be King in Black. Eddie didn not know Dylan existed for many years. Knowing Dylan and the bonding they experienced helped Eddie recover from the wounds of his past. Dylan has a special physiology, half-human and half-symbiote. Different designers have investigated the benefits this provides for Dylan over his father and other symbiotes since his introduction. Now Venom has another major advantage as the Earth suffers an all-out vampire invasion.
Dylan is immune to vampire bites since of his half-symbiote background. Dylan's blood clearly disgusted the vampire attempting to transform Venom, and Dylan herself compared it to "drinking motor oil." Dylan's half-symbiote past has bestowed upon him powers others lack. Whether those attached to symbiotes are immune to vampires is yet unknown; nevertheless, it is also conceivable that whatever makes Dylan immune may be separated. Then, at least, it could be utilized as a possible antidote to vampirism or as a means of halting its spread.
Unbeknownst to the world at large, Venom has anti-vampire powers and releases them for the first time Blood Hunt devours the Marvel Universe, and its heroes are surrounded with legions of vampires. One of their number has caught Dylan Brock, the current Venom, in Venom #34 with intention of converting him. Not at all a helpless prisoner, Venom reveals his Anti-Vampire powers.
Juan Ferreyra drew and Al Ewing wrote Venom #34. While former Venom host Eddie Price deals with a cosmic, symbiote vampire, Dylan has been abducted by a former priest turned vampire. Dylan gets bitten by a vampire, then recoils. He yells he cannot swallow Venom's blood since it is contaminated. Dylan says the symbiote is in his blood as he flees away, so clarifying why he couldn be transformed.
The new anti-vampire power of venom also begs another fascinating question: perhaps he possesses other powers unknown to us or ones he has not yet displayed. Since Dylan is the first half-symbiote to show up in the Marvel Universe, much about his talents is yet unknown. Dylan might show fresh skills when future creators document Venom's exploits, ones that will set him in a league ahead of his father and other symbiotes. First, though, Venom has to survive Blood Hunt; with his new Anti-Vampire abilities, it nearly ensures this will occur.

For the symbiote, Let There Be Carnage was a seminal event. Things are not going as he has been trying to assist Eddie Brock with his symbiote addiction.
With the reappearance of Carnage just around, the Symbiotes' future and their place in the Marvel Universe appears to be sharply changing. Eddie Brock and the symbiote must decide whether they can trust their worst aspects when the carnage symbiote returns.
The universe of the symbiote has changed totally with the conclusion of the Clone Saga. Like other of its type, the Venom symbiote finds itself in a challenging situation. Venom must come to terms with its own identity even as it seeks to recover its powers. Though it would provide fantastic narrative, the reappearance of Carnage, the malevolent version of the symbiote, could be an unwelcome guest.
Since the plot is still developing, the symbiote's final fate is yet unknown. Though it is yet to be seen how the narrative will turn out, the symbiotes will surely be a potent tool in the Marvel Universe for years to come.
