Spider-Man's Insane New Healing Factor: 8 Lives & Resurrection!

Whoa! Spider-Man Gets a Killer New healing factor – and It’s Totally Gory!

Spider-Man's New Mystic Healing Factor: Eight Lives to Save the World!

Spider-Man is known for surviving crazy stuff. He battles Carnage, Doc Ock, the Green Goblin—the whole shebang! He always comes out on top!  But Marvel just upped the ante in Amazing Spider-Man #61 (written by Joe Kelly, art by Ed McGuinness and Niko Henrichon)! This involves one heck of a mission; and one extremely dangerous task: He gets a brand-new healing factor so powerful, he’ll need it to survive. We are talking about a major plot development which completely alters how we view the main protagonist.

This new, major ability is completely game-changing: It’s all thanks to Doctor Doom (who became Sorcerer Supreme after the events in Blood Hunt), taking over Doctor Strange's responsibilities and abilities – a supremely powerful mage! Doom's got no interest in Earth’s protection; specifically, a deal with the god Cyttorak (protecting Earth from cosmic threats, but needing a yearly renewal). Doom, however, sends Spider-Man to do this for him! Yes, he gets someone else to do it.

Spider-Man is always protecting others. And that's exactly how Doctor Doom manipulates him! He agrees to handle Cyttorak's demands—a truly cosmic mission.  But appeasing a god is way beyond a regular day’s work for Spider-Man, creating a major demand for another major storyline change: a totally new suit! That is super-cool. And it's insanely powerful!

He gets insane advantages. This suit lets Spider-Man get resurrected! Even from seriously gruesome injuries!  Marvel’s trailer already showed just how incredibly wounded he gets before that incredible return to life after multiple times; an act made possible because of his extremely high potential through this mission. Yes, he gets brought back eight times to complete his job and, ultimately, save everyone.

Seriously, this is way beyond anything Spider-Man faced previously. Even those epic battles were significantly smaller in scale and far easier compared to those massive cosmic battles in the story involving the mighty Doctor Doom himself and he needed eight chances at being alive to pull it off!  The mere number required speaks volumes: a significantly dangerous adventure. His typical powers, his agility and super-strength –all great! Now? That addition of total invincibility – this alone showcases the amount of investment that makes this particular mission stand out compared to others in the series.  And he gets those crazy powers solely at the mercy of Doctor Doom; creating even more complex layers of relationships which will impact both the individuals and the future events surrounding the series.  That adds insane intensity to his battles.
