That show was epic!  Now get this: its cooler sister series, Silverhawks, is making a huge comeback! Dynamite Entertainment, that publisher behind that wildly successful Thundercats relaunch (it's their biggest debut EVER!), is bringing back those awesome metal-winged heroes in 2025. This reboot promises those big things fans are waiting for. Those '80s babies have another reason to rejoice.

Thanks to Dynamite Entertainment's deal with Warner Brothers/Discovery, Silverhawks will get a new ongoing series launching January! That 1980s toy craze?  Remember GI Joe and Masters of the Universe?  Well, Thundercats was right there;  creating immense popularity and success as a beloved and popular cartoon! This incredibly lucrative series eventually got its spinoff, the awesome Silverhawks (a year later). It brought that metal-winged superhero goodness; combined with action, toys, and comics. Its premise involved those larger-than-life, animal-themed heroes battling against a truly menacing cast; with villains like Mon-Starr.

Unlike Thundercats, Silverhawks didn’t last long (and disappeared rather fast in the 1980s, a time when toys and cartoons could quickly fade away after that popularity cycle diminished) even after becoming hugely successful initially. Yet the Thundercats universe kept going with various relaunches since then – but Silverhawks kind of faded into obscurity! The good news is Ed Brisson and George Kambadais will bring those beloved characters to a new generation, making this reboot a much-awaited moment.

The two franchises share remarkably similar themes— and for anyone familiar with those kinds of 1980s series and production details— these shows are related beyond mere coincidence; as it turns out, these shows had much deeper connections!
