Q Jr. At last makes good; it took some time but he did it!
Keep in mind that wacky, cheeky, Q from Star Trek. He did, however, have a son, Q Jr., sent in to upset the Q Continuum's equilibrium. Q Jr. was sadly more of a bratty child than a wise leader. But hey, guess what? At last, he acted appropriately! And all of this is a result of a comic book titled Sons of Star Trek #4.
Q Junior's "Lesson" Becomes a Self-Discovery Trip
Q Jr. tosses Nog, Alexander, and Jake into a parallel universe in the comic book. Like his dad did for Captain Picard, he intends to impart knowledge to them. Still, suppose what? His abilities are kaput! Q Jr. came to see he was not really imparting knowledge to anyone. You know, he was merely trying to get his dad's love and approval—which is rather similar.
As it happens, Q Jr. exactly needed that epiphany of self-awareness. His powers returned loud, even his dad, Q, gave him a thumbs-up. Q said that Q Jr.'s little adventure would help the Q Continuum evolve - which is exactly why he was born in the first place.
What is the Great Deal Regarding the Q Continuum Anyway?
In the Star Trek universe, the Q are rather like gods. They like to play about with people just for fun, are quite strong, can do almost anything. Q Jr. arrived at a point where the Q Continuum resembled almost a civil war. He was meant to bring harmony and enable the Q flourish. But he was still young, thus he was rather poor at it.
Janeway had to intervene and assume guardianship even in Star Trek: Voyager. And now thanks to Sons Of Star Trek, Q Jr. at last seems to be getting it. It took some time, but he's at last performing as expected.
Q Jr.'s Path Illustrates the Value of Self- Acceptance
Although Q Jr. might have been a pain in the neck for some time, this narrative is rather nice. It demonstrates how difficult self-doubt and a need for acceptance can be even for those possessing great powers. And great things can happen when you at last embrace your for who you are, even if your dad doesn't really understand. When Q Jr. at last acted morally, the Q Continuum expanded. And, if you ask me, that's rather fantastic.
