NEW Gear for Deadpool
Wade Wilson's Deadpool has reintegrated an old piece of classic tech (with some modern enhancements) in Marvel Comics' current issue. Desperate to be accepted to the X-Men's island kingdom of Krakoa and to rejoin X-Force, Wade Wilson has created an impromptu "audition" of sorts to show himself worthy in the perspective of Wolverine. Although Logan has not been very impressed by Deadpool's efforts thus far, maybe Wade's new devices will provide him the edge he needs to prove he can be a useful asset (despite his more disruptive nature).
Although practically every mutant was offered the opportunity to participate in Krakoa, Deadpool was not one of them as he is not a real mutant technically. Running the figures, the X-Men also found that, should they welcome Deadpool on a permanent basis, there is a 97% probability he will burn everything to the ground. That didn't stop him, though, from trying all kinds of covert routes to get onto the island (failed every time). Wade now thinks that Deadpool's ticket back aboard X-Force may be helping Wolverine heal his severed hand from the CIA's X-Desk. Wade and Logan have also unearthed a far more extensive conspiracy against mutantkind with robots resembling the X-Men under control by Danger herself (the living form of the Danger Room).
The Forgotten Tool of Deadpool Returns to Grant Him New Authority
Deadpool's improved some old tech he hasn't used in quite a bit in an effort to get back aboard X-Force and be welcomed by the mutant country Krakoa.
Alert! Ahead for Wolverine #21 are spoilers.
New Gear by Deadpool
Part of Deadpool's turbulent audition has seen Benjamin Percy and Adam Kubert remixing their old tunes in the new Wolverine #21. Deadpool has recovered his image inducer, a tool he used back in the day to construct holographic disguises, after seeing his old friend Weasel (who'd love to see him dead). Now, the revised model lets him do far more like project moving duplicates and mirages. But the inducer is only one tool among a funny new armory Weasel was less than pleased to offer.
Of course, the arsenal list features some quite strange objects that humorously stand out: a projection of former X-Men writer and comic book legend Jonathan Hickman on a unicycle, something that's shockingly named Mr. Tickle Fingers, and a copy of Deadpool's own first appearance—albeit in terrible condition. Two "big-ass guns," grenades, an EMP, and something that has inexplicably been deleted with a note cautioning that it should only be used in case of emergency are among some helpful objects, though. Wade also gets Rubik's Cube and fart gas—why not? But the most noteworthy item outside the improved inducer is Wade's teleportation belt, something Deadpool had given up a long back since he claimed it made his task "too easy".
Returning with Deadpool
Deadpool is obviously expecting that his new 2.0 equipment would wow Krakoa and enable him to resume X-Force in not too distant future. To persuade Wolverine, though, it will most likely take more than that. Having all that, discovering a large government plot against mutantkind seems like a decent beginning. Here's hope Marvel Comics' upcoming issues bring Deadpool's fantasy of seeing X-Force back together.
