Image Comics' Ice Cream Man is already a top-tier horror anthology series! Every issue offers a totally unique fright-fest, all tied together by that creepy Ice Cream Man. Now, get ready for an even bigger dose of terror because there's an upcoming special edition: Ice Cream Man: One-Page horror stories; this promises to become a massive hit with fans due to its uniquely crafted collection of new one-page stories! And the lineup?  Prepare for a major dose of creative power!

Gamesradar revealed everything, the full list of writers (alongside the cover art!), that W. Maxwell Prince (the main guy behind Ice Cream Man) is bringing the A-team! He is working alongside the incredibly amazing, star-studded lineup: Grant Morrison, Patton Oswalt, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Matt Fraction, Jeff Lemire, Geoff Johns, Zoe Thorogood, Deniz Camp, and Frank Barbiere! That is huge and will bring incredible hype around this latest special edition release!

Each writer is responsible for one super short story. Each piece will have unique visuals thanks to main artists Martín Morazzo and Chris O’Halloran — and even an additional variant cover made by Maria Llovet! The issue will officially be called Ice Cream Man #43, and its launch promises to become incredibly significant and memorable to anyone who enjoys Ice Cream Man’s typical storytelling. In fact, Prince himself has already highlighted in an official statement from Image Comics about this amazing opportunity:

"How lucky are we? That some of Comics’ most beloved writers agreed (or one may say were tricked) into contributing to our issue of one-page horror stories. Our MO has always been compression - getting a full story to fit one floppy. But this is a whole new level, and a whole new challenge. We hope that you like our little stories, and hope even more that you appreciate our guests and their amazing brains."

The Ice Cream Man: A Horror Host Extraordinaire (And a Creepy Vendor)

At first glance, the Ice Cream Man looks normal— the white suit, the classic hat, and the ice cream truck… a regular neighborhood guy!  But it turns out there's a major sinister side to this friendly-looking Ice Cream Man, folks; this character was only used sparingly to really make each storyline’s introduction and climax more enjoyable; as his presence always appears directly prior or during many stories which helps create this very particular tone which only Ice Cream Man is able to perfectly capture, even through extremely subtle methods such as that recurring figure.

We're never given definitive answers surrounding who he might just be! Is this some kind of twisted deity?  A supernatural demon?  Maybe even… Satan?!   It remains a mystery, making every event related to him so memorable; as that creeping dread of not knowing why or how these incidents just happen. All the horrible stories presented happen as an aftereffect of his actions or the product he sells, his power often used to induce this truly unimaginable, horrible psychological torment, and, tragically often culminating in violent and graphic death.

What to Expect: One-Page Nightmares!

Ice Cream Man's stories are wildly varied – ranging from obvious dangers like venomous spiders, to werewolf attacks to completely mind-bending surrealism (a soul slowly decaying in Hell). This gives complete freedom to these new, incredible writers – this kind of unique opportunity shows exactly what can be achieved when great talent is involved in the production of new stories! This opens those doors toward entirely unexpected outcomes. Each page might bring that shock – and there could be towns getting ripped apart by demons; another could depict people getting horrifically buried alive; something utterly mind-bending, possibly even Lovecraftian horror themes or simply strange, alien environments!

This is completely unlike any previous storytelling elements found in Ice Cream Man; showing an important step:   It is not directly involved in the previous narrative.  These stories still utilize The Ice Cream Man's iconic presence. Everything feels incredibly random—the way it should feel. Expect total unpredictability. And honestly?
