Starfield fans who like to cruise through space to the funky tunes of Fallout 4 are in luck because a new mod brings over many of the retro tracks. The vast expanse of space can be a lonely, quiet place but fortunately for those Starfield players who like to fill the void with some time tunes, a new mod introduces over 100 songs from one another popular Bethesda game. Following the sci-fi RPG's launch, one of the most common complaints regarding the game was the lack of a radio that played music and provided players with updates on the world thanks to an informed DJ. Fortunately, modders were quick to address the problem and while an experienced disc jockey is still required, the music is covered.
Posted to Nexus Mods by BONeill, the "More Where That Came From" add-on features 111 new songs to Starfield that were all originally included in the Fallout 4 version of the fan-favorite mod. Considered by many to be an essential add-on, the first iteration of the Fallout 4 mod expanded upon Diamond City Radio's collection of Music; While there's no such system to build upon in space, the mod instead ports all the new tracks, and some familiar old ones, to Starfield. Players can simply passively play the radio to provide some funky background music for their adventures.
Every starship in Starfield comes equipped with a communications radio that can be used to hail nearby travelers but for some reason, Bethesda didn't include an option to tune into radio shows and listen to music. Easily one of the most popular aspects of the Fallout series, its absence was immediately noted and addressed by modders looking to give fans something to squash the silence. One of the most impressive Mods, which can also just be played through a browser window, adds five stations playing distinct Music genres under the guidance of some charismatic DJs.
It's entirely possible that Bethesda intends to add Radio Stations in an upcoming DLC or update but the fact that Starfield launched without them is puzzling. Considering how much time is spent sitting in the cockpit of a ship, it would have been nice to have some Music to pass the time. With the launch of Creations, passionate players will undoubtedly begin creating even more elaborate stations for explorers to discover.
In the interim, the "More Where That Came From" mod should satisfy those looking to leap around planets to the dulcet tones of The Andrews Sisters and Bing Crosby. "Ghost Riders from the Sky" feels like a particularly applicable song in relation to Starfield's themes and setting. Even if it space is cold and lonely, having a gentle voice on the radio is often all the company a space cowboy needs.
