In Avengers Endgame, it seemed like there were many heroes who could have taken the Infinity Gauntlet, snapped Thanos' snap away, and lived, but it was Iron Man who was destined for this fate.
We know it was Iron Man's moment to do what was necessary in Avengers Endgame. Let's go through those who might have been capable:

Captain Marvel Endgame could probably survive due to her powerful abilities, while both Captain America Endgame, and Scarlet Witch Endgame have vast powers that would potentially make the snap possible for them. Remember that Groot Guardians of the Galaxy could be restored after a snap if he was destroyed!
