All-New Venom: Marvel's Symbiote Goes Gold!

Venom Gets a Golden Makeover! Marvel Unveils All-New Venom's Stunning Redesign!

Marvel's Venom: A Brand-New Host and a Totally Gold Redesign!

Get ready for some serious symbiote action, Marvel fans! Spinning straight out of the epic "Venom War," that game-changing storyline, our favorite Symbiote antihero, Venom, is getting a major upgrade. We’re talking a brand-New Host (the identity still remains shrouded in mystery!), plus a totally awesome gold redesign! It's insane.

This whole thing's unfolding in Al Ewing and Carlos Gomez's All-New Venom series. It's a big change after "Venom War," which effectively ended Eddie Brock's long run as Venom and King in Black. This latest redesign appears on several variant covers which completely display this exciting, completely different style of costume design.

Even though Venom has had many redesigns, most stick to that classic black-and-white look. The white spider symbol is so iconic, most people wouldn't even want to alter it too significantly; Yet a big, important "Venom War"-level event completely changes the whole story, leaving much to explore, showcasing this potential to go to other completely different areas not fully explored before!

Al Ewing has some major ideas. This change isn’t superficial!  This Gold suit represents something major: a changed power structure and capabilities for Venom which adds yet another layer of creative complexity not entirely emphasized within some other major releases! The identity of the host however is currently unknown, though likely one of Luke Cage, Madame Masque, Rick Jones, or Robbie Robertson. It is highly suggested to watch for these hints throughout the storyline.

Ewing explains to Polygon this isn't just a new look:

"Every page that comes in the inbox looks just fantastic. And I am throwing [out] a lot of new Venom configurations. Part of the “all new” of this All-New Venom is that Venom doesn’t fight like we’ve seen Venom do before. I’m just now writing some pages where Venom does extremely wild shape-shifting, using the gooeyness of the Symbiote. One way the All-New Venom is different is that it has a more heroic-looking Venom. I won’t get into the visuals, I’ll just mention in passing that there is a new look for Venom. But previously, there’s been a lot of gooeyness, a lot of tendrils, a lot of, like, ooze and goop and slime and fangs and teeth. This is maybe a little bit more of a solid Venom. It gives us the advantage that we can pull off all kinds of exciting new tricks and fun new things, right from issue 1."

That Gold suit totally sets a high bar!  There’s natural intrigue when a new person becomes Venom. It matters, especially given that Venom's had some seriously legendary hosts throughout its entire history!  However, Ewing uses that terminology—"solid" Venom—and that means this isn't merely a superficial upgrade. This would have tremendous significance!   After all, it previously had great relationships with genuine heroes (Flash Thompson is still beloved for his history!). This might explain this interesting re-imagining of this existing character and adds greater detail for its continued progression and storytelling opportunities! Those involved created something interesting and valuable; which shows just why this title might possibly make a significant comeback and become even better than ever before!

This "solid" design will provide opportunities to showcase these new capabilities, as well as adding significant intensity toward an already significant story that fans and those involved with its entire production eagerly anticipate!
