Tower Of God anime made some changes compared to the source material and these changes in the anime could completely shift Bam’s motivation and character. One of the key scenes that was omitted from the anime was Han Sung Yu, the test director of the second floor, giving each regular a ring before they leave the floor to climb the tower. This gift would later be revealed to have a sinister purpose.
Fans will be introduced to FUG, a powerful and shadowy organization in the Tower, and learn that Han Sung Yu, is a member of this group. He put a tracker device on the rings he gave to Bam’s friends, which means that they will be killed by FUG unless he joins their organization. Bam’s friends unknowingly become hostages of FUG.
The anime made a significant change in Bam’s final conversation with Hwaryun. When Bam is found by Hwaryun after being pushed by Rachel, he gets up on his own and confidently declares that he will climb the tower to find the answer to Rachel’s betrayal. This represents a huge change in Bam’s personality and motivation to climb the tower. In the webtoon, Bam was devastated and helpless after Rachel’s betrayal, unable to understand his feelings.
Bam’s desire to find the answer to Rachel’s actions does not provide him with the motivation to climb the tower. He was still struggling to find who he wants to become. Bam’s motivation to climb the tower comes later, after he learns that his friends are in danger. Bam is forced to choose between his friends and his desire to find Rachel.
The tracking rings are a major plot point in Tower Of God webtoon, and the lack of this scene could have significant repercussions on the anime’s adaptation of Part 2. Bam’s character arc will be affected, and it’s unclear how the anime will address this significant change to the story.
Season 2 could potentially stray further from the source material and show Bam willingly training without being threatened. This would be a major departure from the original story and could damage the anime’s credibility. But, fans are curious to see how the anime will handle the story and will be excited to see Bam’s characterization, as he navigates the dangerous world of FUG.
