So far, The Elusive Samurai has had more than a few shocking moments with its beautifully rendered fight scenes and storytelling. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, The Elusive Samurai is a great adaptation of the hit manga by Yusei Matsui. Set during a chaotic period, the Anime's storyline sees the last of the Hojo prince's, Tokiyuki, on the hunt for those who murdered his family. Expect fast-paced battles with those impressive CloverWorks animations and a gorgeous backdrop of ancient Japan as Tokiyuki struggles to survive.

A Look Back At "The Elusive Samurai" Episode 4: Who Shot the Dog?
Remember in Episode 4 when we were introduced to that crazy lieutenant called Sadamune Ogasara – he's got those eyes and his mission? Find all the remaining Hojo family. Tokiyuki is on the run, of course, and he's currently hiding at the Suwa Grand Shrine, and it's safe to say the game's on. This time though, it’s an archery contest! What's better than an archery challenge for a master archer, right? Sadamune sees this contest as a pretty sure way to gain the upper hand and score some points in his quest to hunt Tokiyuki down. But it turns out Tokiyuki's got more than a few surprises!
This crazy archery challenge has been described as, well, not quite so politically correct by today's standards. It's basically mounted archers shooting arrows at, wait for it, dogs. Poor dogs! But hey, they get to get out of there before someone (Sadamune, looking a bit aggressive with his aim!) scores a hit on a human. I guess, the odds are already in favor of Tokiyuki because Sadamune only manages to shoot arrows at other contestants instead of those unfortunate furry friends!
Elusive Tactics: How Tokiyuki’s Strategy Plays Out
Now, we know from the Manga, the "Elusive Samurai" series is about to enter a big transition that focuses on a more mobile type of archery - the Parthian shot! We're talking archery with a major twist that involves aiming back as you retreat, which seems like it would work perfectly, especially when you are surrounded! But don't forget about the story; this all builds up to when the real story of the Elusive Warriors starts happening!
So what are these "Elusive Warriors?" It seems they’ll have a unique, hard-to-follow approach to battle, but also a bit more ethically complicated. There are "good guys", right, who’re focused on fighting evil and doing the right thing - but then there's Kazama Genba. This is a rogue thief type of guy who just wants cash. And, we can see where this might get super interesting with an upcoming Episode 5 release that will explore how Tokiyuki has to make difficult choices, choosing his new Elusive Warrior team, to overcome his opponent, Sadamune.
Tune in to watch this epic new anime on Crunchyroll to catch The Elusive Samurai, because it’s not often you get a show where this type of warrior learns to use his strength to help others, even as he escapes for his life.
