Mahoraga Shifted The Balance Of The Fight In Sukuna's Favor
Gojo entered the fight with a bunch of advantages. He's got the rare Gojo Clan Six Eyes and the Limitless inherited technique. Limitless makes infinity real, letting the user mess with space, and Gojo can use it with Six Eyes. This makes Gojo super strong and lets him manipulate space so nothing can touch him. He's also a super smart strategist. But Sukuna isn't called the King of Curses for nothing. Sukuna's domain expansion, Malevolent Shrine, let him break through Gojo's Limitless and hit him.
Sukuna relied on his base cursed technique, and Gojo was the more powerful sorcerer, but that's why Sukuna decided to use Megumi's Ten Shadows and summon Mahoraga. Sukuna could get past Gojo's Limitless with his domain expansion, but couldn't use his Cursed Techniques at the same time. Mahoraga can adapt to any attack, and it took the job of breaking through Gojo's Limitless, so Sukuna could use his cursed energy attacks once Mahoraga created an opening.
Sukuna Secured Victory With An Incredible Last-Second Strategy
Gojo knew about Mahoraga and how it works. He planned to take out Sukuna before Mahoraga could adapt, but he was wrong. Mahoraga doesn't stop adapting and doesn't limit itself to one thing. It realized it had trouble adapting to Gojo's Limitless quickly, so it decided to adapt to Gojo's environment - the space he was in.
Once Sukuna figured out what Mahoraga was doing, he changed his plan. He decided to learn from Mahoraga's adaptation and use it with his own Cursed Technique. Instead of trying to hit Gojo directly, he hit the space Gojo was in. If Gojo was a picture painted on glass, Limitless would keep people from touching the glass where the picture is. But it wouldn't stop them from touching other parts of the glass. Sukuna figured out if he smashed the glass where there's no picture, the cracks would eventually break the picture, and Gojo couldn't do anything to stop it.
Sukuna and Gojo Will Battle One More Time – But Not How Fans Expected
After Gojo lost, fans wondered how the main cast would take down the King of Curses. In a shocking twist, Yuta Okkotsu decided to copy Kenjaku's cursed technique and take over Gojo's body to fight Sukuna one last time. It's heartbreaking, because it shows most of the sorcerer society only sees Gojo as a weapon. It's pretty dark, but it fits Jujutsu Kaisen's themes from the beginning when Sukuna possessed Yuji.
Sadly, we don't know what will happen in the final battle between Yuta/Gojo and Sukuna, because the manga is on break. Fans are hoping Yuta's plan will work. The latest chapter ended with a huge cliffhanger, so the fight could go any way. Jujutsu Kaisen is available from Viz Media and MANGA Plus.
