Sonic No Longer is the Joke's Butt in One-Punch Man.
The redrawn chapters of One-Punch Man recontextualize the events of the Ninjas Arc, mostly placing Sonic on more even ground with Flash as was already mentioned. Sonic is a formidable combatant who trades blows with his former friend in the most recent chapters, not a lesser Ninja who has fallen short of the elegance of Flash's S-Class adventures. This makes the scene in which he rejects Void's manipulations more plausible, yet remains in character in One-Punch Man, a great distance from once trying to eat a monster cell and developing diarrhea instead.
Sonic is so unimaginably strong that no character—not even Garou—has matched him hence it is doubtful he will surpass Saitama's strength level. But the will to get better is not unlike the value of King's wisdom or Genos' loyalty in One-Punch Man, definite qualities that enthrall the readers over to these characters. Although Sonic's journey in One-Punch Man is unknown, all eyes are on him as he battles the most evil enemy ever.
Sonic Uses His Rivalry for Good with Saitama
Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Flashy Flashy Flashy Silence meets the cunning Empty Void at the most recent redesigned chapter bridging One-Punch Man chapters #198-199. With his skills for disguise, the villain swiftly fools Sonic into dealing with God's enigmatic cubes, a lethal capacity even Saitama might not be immune to. But as the original publication of chapter #200 shows, Sonic's taken to a vision of the moment he ate a monster cell in One-Punch Man chapter #76. Still, he is untempted, driven to reach Saitama's level with his independent might.
Consumed to monsterize humans and increase their powers in return for their humanity, monster cells are big viral cells. Designed for raw consumption, Sonic cooked one gourmet meal unintentionally made it inert. This evolution will probably take place in the next redesigned chapter slated to premiere on June 12, 2024, delving into Sonic's motivations to match his more captivating presentation in Murata's latest releases. Unlike Flash and knock his fellow ninja out of a similar stupor by inflicting first blood on the Void, Sonic's willpower lets him quickly break out from the vision. All of it points to a development fit for an antihero and more than just a challenger to Saitama in One-Punch Man. Vegeta-like.
Finally Living Up to His Heroic Potential, One of Saitama's First One-Punch Man Rivals
One-Punch Man has a superb job depicting even the toughest of rivalries versus Saitama to create amazing chances for character development, like for Speed-o'-Sound Sonic. Thanks to the recently published redesigned chapters by Yusuke Murata, Sonic has kept proving himself as a competent warrior who can rise to the challenge even in the most recent volumes. Fans may soon find the results of Sonic's development in One-Punch Man as the narrative approaches becoming more completely realized.
Based on the Ninjas Arc, Sonic and his fellow warrior Flashy Flash came from the same village where they were taught as ninjas, hence this development is not shocking. More importantly, though, Sonic has developed to match Saitama's power, which has put him almost on level with an S-Class Hero, Flash, and even the lethal founder of his hometown. Previously just "that man" and creator of the Ninja Village, Empty Void is an existential menace; even having God's powers, Sonic seems to be unable to repel his abilities in One-Punch dude.
The fight between Saitama and Garou in One-Punch Man has long-lasting effects, energizing the next major villain of the show.
One-Punch Man's central thesis is centered on Saitama's lack of challenge. This kind of arrangement makes it easy for the narrative to veer off course as a character who can defeat any opponent is challenging to develop around. The path of others who strive to defeat Saitama, a notion that has let other characters like Genos, Tatsumaki, and even Garou really shine in the series, seems to be the most intriguing aspect of the narrative, though, and the writers seem to have recognized.
Saitama's lack of a challenge offers the other characters in One-Punch Man a clear target. They strive to achieve Saitama's power level, therefore activating their full potential. Sonic, which has been displayed in the most recent chapters, amply illustrates this, demonstrating that the show is just growing more fascinating.
