Gojo and Geto Paid the Same Tragic End.
Tragic events defined Geto Suguru's life; hence, he was a quite sympathetic character before he finally gave in to brutality and wickedness and started a cult. At first, he was a quite talented sorcerer able to absorb curses and their effects only by eating them. However, the process of curse absorption severely physically and psychologically taxed the sorcerer, hence this talent was not as amazing as it seems. Geto moved more away from Jujutsu culture till, finally he chose to begin killing non-sorcerers instead since he saw no use in exorcizing curses.
Former best friend Geto Gojo was appalled by his move toward wickedness. Gojo struggled to battle against his best friend and deal with the terrible betrayal, but his will to save mankind motivated him on. Years apart, the couple came back together in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 when Geto sought to kill Yuta and Rika. Gojo was by his side till his last breath; Geto did not survive this last fight and so the separated friendship was reunited one last time. Though Gojo and Geto saw quite distinct worlds and experiences, one new, terrible resemblance links the two sorcerers.
The Gojo Twist from Jujutsu Kaisen has a deeper and more tragic meaning.
Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Manga's Chapter #261 Following Gojo's terrible death at the hands of the evil cursed spirit, Ryomen Sukuna, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have not stopped chattering about a possible reappearance for the strongest sorcerer. Many fans were wondering about how the hero would be resurrected, searching the manga for hints even though he died months ago. Devoted followers of the figure never gave up hope for his return one day. Though he is now back, his return did not coincide with anyone's best hopes.
As chapter #261 of Jujutsu Kaisen reveals, Gojo "returned" at long last but not in the manner anybody had imagined he would. Yuta is controlling his body, much as Kenjaku utilized Geto's body as a vessel.
This Horrifically Ironic Link Between Gojo and Geto
Though they took different courses in their life and had different opinions on the worth of mankind, it is shockingly ironic that both sorcerers ended up in the exact same terrible circumstance. Geto tried to eradicate non-sorcerers, whereas Gojo battled valiantly to protect those exact same people from terrible curses. Nevertheless, the fighting claimed the lives of both soldiers, and sadly, they were unable to rest in peace later on. Sadly, others stole the sorcerer's bodies and turned them into weapons for the same battle that claimed both of them.
Gojo and Geto both died as a result of the never-ending conflict, despite their best attempts; they were victims of the apparently limitless war between curses and sorcerers. Both of them began their stay at Jujutsu High with great vitality and hope, but soon Geto was depressed and traumatized, even switching sides totally. Though terrible, the fact that the Manga author, Gege Akutami, is still tying these two people who loved one another so tightly in yet another fascinating manner makes the ending terrible yet also bittersweet.
Officially under production, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 below is everything known about it thus far from its story details to its release date.
Fans know that the evil sorcerer Kenjaku sadly stole Geto's body after Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Geto was quite strong and connected with Gojo, the strongest sorcerer in the world, which Kenjaku considered as benefits that would help him in his sinister intentions. He sealed the sorcerer in the Prison Realm, therefore granting him more freedom to do whatever he pleased without the worry of Gojo's intervention hovering over his head, by deftly using Geto's corpse as a vessel and caught Gojo totally by surprise in the season 2 Shibuya Incident Arc.
Gojo was utterly disgusted and astounded to witness someone else flying Geto's body, but little did he realize he would later on in the narrative meet the same fate. Using Shoko, the sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu takes over Gojo's body in Manga chapter #261 to battle against Sukuna. In a last-ditch attempt, Yuta carried out his macabre scheme to use Gojo's amazing techniques against the curse by transferring himself into Gojo's body just like Kenjaku did to Geto, because the Jujutsu sorcerers had not had much luck fighting the King of Curses thus far.
Jujutsu Kaisen Shows the Lethal Effects of War
Other animes like Attack on Titan have a strong anti-war attitude, hence one could wonder if Jujutsu Kaisen will convey the same message based on the paths of Gojo and Geto. Many lives have been lost in the violence and bloodshed of the struggle between curses and sorcerers. Two of the most gifted sorcerers, full of promise, were sent to early graves and subsequently turned into pawns in the war a second time without knowledge. Although the finale of Jujutsu Kaisen is yet unknown, the present is quite dark and the violence appears to be an endless and dangerous loop that damages everyone engaged.
Had the fight never taken place, Gojo and Geto's life as well as those of everyone else engaged would have turned out quite differently. The show depicts the permanent harm war produces in the actual world as well and is shockingly accurate. In any case, it is almost melancholic to realize that Gojo and Geto are still linked on some tragic level even in death. Viewers can only hope that the conflict between curses and sorcerers ends soon and that these two beloved Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerers would at last get the rest and freedom from the fighting they so very rightfully deserve.
