Naruto's Kaiju-Inspired Finale: Godzilla's Influence on Naruto & Boruto

Naruto's Epic Finale: A Kaiju Clash Decades in the Making!

Naruto's Last Stand: A Godzilla-Sized Throwback!

Naruto is a legendary anime and manga; known for its epic battles. Creator Masashi Kishimoto, like many creators, uses pop culture for inspiration; and one particularly cool element is his love for Godzilla and kaiju (giant monster) movies!  This influence shows in Naruto's Final Battle!

Kaiju are everywhere these days – even hitting big in movies like Godzilla Minus One!  It’s fun to revisit Naruto's use of these giant monsters; especially concerning the series’ main focus: The Tailed Beasts (or Biju); those things were in Naruto from the very beginning! It makes their eventual, massive kaiju-style appearances in the final battles even more epic and exciting.  The final fight between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha?  A massive example; showcasing Kishimoto’s incredibly detailed, carefully planned vision that was designed into this series since the beginning of the very first story arc.

The final battle is brilliantly designed; featuring their fight at the Valley of the End (mirroring Part 1’s ending) and showing off how these ninjas grew up; making this duel really stand out. The most visually stunning and most memorable moments show Naruto unleashing his Tailed Beast Mode against Sasuke’s Complete Body Susanoo. Watch those Naruto Shippuden episodes (#476 and #477); those showcase just how immense and impressive these two unique forms are, demonstrating each ninja's extreme powers.

It’s an emotional end to their epic rivalry – that perfectly conveys just how important the relationship between Naruto and Sasuke had been developed through the many story arcs in this show and also perfectly conveys why Naruto never gave up on Sasuke. Those huge forms; Sasuke's Indra Susanoo and Naruto's Six Paths Sage Mode (power up for Kurama), were designed for maximum impact; adding spectacle to a dramatic storyline that resolved much of the central conflicts in a cathartic way that deeply resonated within many audience members, ending in a supremely emotional final ending, creating a very well-designed resolution!

Kishimoto’s Kaiju Dream: From the Start!

That massive kaiju fight in Naruto? Not some random last-minute addition; this was Kishimoto’s plan all along! He talked about this in a Nippon interview—those Tailed Beasts were a way to achieve the desire of having his own giant monsters in the Naruto verse and this decision played a significant role; impacting and forming the series from its beginnings. The famous Summoning Technique gave access to these kinds of creatures, as he discussed within the interview.

He even quotes "I loved Godzilla. I just wanted to draw a monster—something big that I could place in a battle. That’s why I decided to introduce the  kuchiyose no jutsu, the summoning skills that let ninja call forth the weapons they need, or call a creature to their side to aid them in a fight. My intent from the start was to bring forth gigantic beings with these skills."  This directly influenced many major story elements, the most impressive one from the earlier parts of Naruto remains Naruto’s arrival in Konoha during the Pain’s Assault Arc—an incredible, impressive spectacle highlighting those exact points he emphasizes in the interview!

Kaiju in Boruto: The Evolution of the Threat

This isn’t merely a one-off event, and giant monsters appear once more!  Those giant creatures, Kurama's re-emergence and the Ten-Tails’s new form in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex prove this very significant and ongoing point: Giant creatures, those Kaiju are still essential; showcasing Kishimoto’s profound influence; further emphasizing the key theme surrounding massive creature powers throughout Boruto’s current arc. And this shows the key, crucial difference regarding their nature: these aren’t mere mindless beasts, there is far, far greater context! Those monstrous beings and powerful figures; this isn’t that old, relatively simplistic model. That key aspect evolves! We see that evolve.

Boruto's new threat? The Divine Trees. They're humanoid, powerful, capable and housing those Ten-Tails’ power; creating a massively powerful threat – their hunger, that intense pursuit of knowledge prevents total devastation; setting up new conflict; adding more potential twists.

Conclusion: Naruto's Kaiju Legacy Continues in Boruto!

Naruto’s final battle’s epic kaiju-style fight wasn’t random—Kishimoto's long-term vision brought that to life, demonstrating an artistic viewpoint rarely attempted and perfectly fitting for the style of storytelling found in Naruto!  Boruto's continuation uses that legacy; this influence continues through its updated giant monster-like threats—the Divine Trees— emphasizing that ongoing storyline. This theme, a prominent aspect, evolves and makes Boruto’s giant monster-related stories into something unexpectedly far more profound than Naruto's!
